Jeopardy! fans rage 'enough' as they fume at ABC over having to 'endure' added show element

Jeopardy! fans were left fuming after having to "endure" a newly added element that many viewers found distracting throughout the game.

On September 10 many fans were up in arms as the ABC network included a Presidential debate countdown clock in the right-hand corner of the screen often covering up the face of contestant Adam Reiffen. Many fans were annoyed by the unnecessary feature as they complained they were already aware the debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump was going to be aired next.

As the latest episode aired viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to air out their grievances with the network. One viewer wrote: "Hey @ABC7N, I don’t need the countdown clock to the debate during #jeopardy!" And another replied: "That countdown clock is going to p-ss me off."

A third viewer piled in: "Really ABC? We know what your programming is tonight. We don't need the countdown clock." While a fourth echoed: "ABC drumming up excitement for politics again - we have only had to endure political ads here in NC for forever seemingly." And another simply added: "Gosh is that annoying!"

Despite the unwanted addition, fans were still met with a riveting episode of Jeopardy as contestants Adam Reiffen, Mary Catherine, and Will Weiss faced off for a cut-throat round of trivia. During the episode, the three players were met with a number of challenging categories from "islands in the sea" to "1890s America" to "celebrities who read aloud."

By the end of the game Will, who is a technical program manager from Islip, New York, brought home the final win. This comes as Will finished with a staggering total score of $14,000 beating out his opponents by a landslide as Adam finished with $3,999 and Mary with $1,600.

At the end of the game, host Ken Jennings also gave Will a heartfelt congratulations as he joked he was relieved they never needed to face-off on Jeopardy. This came after Will revealed that he was initially in The Pool back in 2004 during Ken’s legendary run on the show.

It was annoying. Even worse was them cutting out of final jeopardy the night before for a special report on the death of James earl jones. Couldn’t have waited till the end of the show? Another minute? No… awful network. 🙄
