Matthew Perry's 'Ketamine Queen' claims she never met him despite arrest over his death

Jasveen Sangha has claimed she never met Matthew Perry, despite being arrested in connection to the Friends actor's death .

Sangha, an alleged drug dealer known as the 'Ketamine Queen', is one of five people arrested last month in connection to Matthew's fatal overdose. She is accused of selling Matthew a lethal dose of ketamine and has pleaded not guilty.

Sangha is facing nine charges in connection with Matthew's death . However, her lawyer Mark Geragos has now said his client had no connection to the actor.

"My client never met Matthew Perry, has nothing to do with Matthew Perry and all the supposed rumors otherwise are just that, urban legend," Geragos said in a new statement.

Speaking to ABC7 News , he also took issue with the 'Ketamine Queen' nickname he claims the US Attorney’s Office has given his client. "I admire the cleverness of it. I don't think it has any place in an indictment," Geragos said.

However, the US Attorney's Office denied the claim they gave Sangha the nickname. In a statement, they said: "We never claimed to have given her the 'Ketamine Queen' nickname. That is something her customers – Erik Fleming included, did."

A trial date was set for Sangha earlier this month. A federal judge in Los Angeles, California, set a trial date for March for both Sangha and another defendant, Dr Salvador Plasencia.

Plasencia was charged with illegally selling ketamine to Matthew a month before he died. Court documents reveal that United States District Judge Sherilyn Garnett arranged a pretrial hearing in February and a trial for March 4 for Sangha and Plasencia.

Dr Mark Chavez, who was also arrested, is agreeing to plead guilty to a federal count of conspiring to distribute ketamine on October 2. Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles announced the charges for the five defendants, which includes Matthew's assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, on August 15. Iwamasa has already pleaded guilty, as has Eric Fleming.
