Meghan Markle issues damning comment as she hits out at life inside the Royal Family

Meghan Markle has hit out at her time in the Royal Family as she admitted she was "so uncomfortable".

The Duchess of Sussex joined The Firm when she tied the knot with Prince Harry back in 2018. Sadly, Meghan had a tough time as a working royal and even snuck away to New York City to escape the drama.

In 2019, Meghan traveled to the Big Apple to watch her close pal Serena Williams play in the US Open. Meghan has now said she was seeking "safety" when she left London to see her friend as she visited the opening of a new bookstore, Godmothers, in her Montecito neighborhood.

"For me, sneaking to New York five years ago was a really big deal," Meghan said at the event. "I was still so uncomfortable being out in the world."

According to Town and Country , she added: "The safety of what I was craving, I knew I could find in a bookstore." Godmothers is co-owned by literary agent Jennifer Rudolph Walsh and cosmetics mogul Victoria Jackson.

Meghan returned to the bookstore ahead of its official opening and looked great as she browsed the shop. She wore a straw sun hat and blue sweater and added a gold Cartier Juste un Clou necklace and a pair of Ray-Ban aviators.

It was Meghan's $310 accessory which caught the most attention. In pictures obtained by People Magazine , the Duchess of Sussex was seen carrying around a leather matchbook keychain by British designer Anya Hindmarch.

The keychain had a very special message on it. "Take What You Need," it read as it featured uplifting words such as hugs, love, patience, and a smile.

Godmothers features a "hometown heroes" shelf where Prince Harry's memoir is showcased - despite his British roots. Jennifer Rudolph Walsh explained the prominent placement of Harry's memoir as she said at a special event for the opening: "This is our local authors shelf when you first walk in.

"I want it to be when you first walk in so that authors who are local to the area know that this is their hometown bookstore. And we celebrate our hometown authors as if they were our hometown heroes, because to us they are." Meghan's children's book The Bench was also on display.

The more the media posts stories/pictures of her and Harry the more the public dislikes them. Neither are producing a single thing. They live off the Royal titles but Americans are not impressed. They will end up returning to the UK because they never made it here.
