Netflix just dropped a sizzling first-look trailer for its upcoming movie Lonely Planet, featuring Jurassic Park legend Laura Dern and Hunger Games heartthrob Liam Hemsworth in a stirring age-gap romance drama.

The film's synopsis teases: "A reclusive novelist (Laura Dern) arrives at a prestigious writer's retreat in Morocco, hoping the remote setting will unlock her writer's block."

It continues: "While there, she meets a young man (Liam Hemsworth) - what starts as an acquaintanceship evolves into an intoxicating, life-altering love affair."

Helmed by director Susannah Grant and producer Liza Chasin, the flick is set to hit Netflix on October 11, much to the delight of eager fans.

The trailer hints at intense scenes between Dern and Hemsworth's characters, beginning with their very first encounter in a car, reports the Mirror .

Sparks fly as Owen questions Katherine about her personal life, quizzing: "How does your guy deal with all of this?"

She responds: "Who said I have a guy? " He tells her, "Wikipedia," prompting her to come back with: "Oh right, of course."

Despite their palpable chemistry, the plot thickens as they delve into the realm of forbidden love, given Owen's girlfriend.

The infidelity aspect has sparked debate among viewers, who voiced their opinions in the comments section.

One viewer commented: "Not a fan of love stories that happen in the context of cheating. The parties being cheated on have to be absolute monsters for me to tolerate it."

One perplexed individual questioned: "What is Hollywood's deal with older women dating younger men?"

This was juxtaposed with another person who wrote: "It's a bit silly how Hollywood romanticizes affairs. As we all know, it's all about the viewership and money. Forget morals."

Yet not all shares this sentiment, as shown when an enthusiast remarked: "Not gonna lie, but I absolutely LOVE the older woman-younger man trope." (sic)

Another supporter expressed: "I'm loving this older woman and younger man trend!"

Regarding their on-screen chemistry, Laura gushed over Liam in an interview with Tudum, saying: "Liam was pure magic."

She added more personal insights, continuing: "He became not only a buddy and a confidant through our Moroccan adventure, but our shared longing [for] honesty and intimacy in all relationships was very moving to me."

Celebrating their connection further, she noted: "We were very aligned, so getting to tell this story together meant the world... and he is friggin' hilarious, so I laughed the entire time."

Lonely Planet releases on October 11 on Netflix.
