Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s boyfriend Ken Urker made an illegal mistake while he and Gypsy were enjoying a family reunion .
Gypsy caught the incident in a vlog titled Family Reunion that she uploaded on her YouTube channel . Near the beginning of the almost 20-minute long video, Ken and Gypsy rode around the neighborhood where their reunion was in a golf cart. Ken drove at normal speed, but he did speed up at certain times. Gypsy sat beside Ken as he drove them, smiling and laughing along with him.
It was all fun and games until Ken accidentally ran a stop sign, which he acknowledged on camera. “[There was] a stop sign there, oops,” Ken nervously said.
Generally, it's considered a traffic violation and is typically penalized with a fine, points on a driver's license, and, in some cases, mandatory attendance at a traffic school. The fine can range anywhere from $60 to $350, depending on the location of the violation and the driver's previous traffic offenses.
Despite the could-be-costly error, Ken and Gypsy seemed to be happier than ever. The two rekindled their romance in April of this year after Gypsy separated from her husband Ryan Anderson in March. In July, Gypsy announced that she and Ken were expecting their first child together. Gypsy made the revelation in a video she shared on YouTube, admitting that though the pregnancy was unplanned she was excited for it.
In the heartfelt video, pregnant Gypsy kicked things off by addressing the swirling rumors: "I know the rumors have been flying around for quite some time now." She then joyfully confirmed the speculation: "...and I'm happy to announce, I'm 11 weeks pregnant."
Gypsy spoke on her Ken’s happiness with the prospect of welcoming their new baby in January 2025. Anticipating some backlash, she acknowledged: "I know that there are going to be people who feel like I'm not ready to be a mother and I don't know if anyone's really ready to be a mother."
Gypsy also shared her vulnerability, expressing her maternal aspirations, and made a heartbreaking promise to her unborn baby. "All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby." Gypsy said regarding the new role she will soon take on: "I am a mother now, I am happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn't."
Gypsy was released from prison in December of last year after serving seven years of a decade-long sentence for her involvement in her mother Dee Dee's murder. Gypsy’s late mother Dee Dee was diagnosed with Munchausen syndrome by proxy (now known as factitious disorder imposed on another), leading her to subject Gypsy to numerous unnecessary medical treatments under the false pretense of various illnesses.
Dee Dee was brutally murdered by Gypsy's ex-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn on June 10, 2015. After they were captured both Nicholas and Gypsy admitted to the killing.
