Ben Affleck feels 'vulnerable and humiliated' as Jennifer Lopez gets cozy with his BFF Matt Damon

After Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, it appears the Argo actor's best friend isn't choosing sides .

Ben rose to fame alongside his best friend, Matt Damon, when the two wrote and starred in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting. Matt and Ben are known for being close and supporting each other, but Matt seemed to be a shoulder to cry on for Jennifer recently.

Jennifer and Matt were seen at the after party for their new movie Unstoppable at the Toronto International Film Festival. Sources at the party claim that the two spoke for over 20 minutes in the corner of the room and held hands as they appeared to be in a serious conversation.

But it appears Matt has been playing for both teams in the divorce battle. Sources also claim that Ben confided in the Bourne Identity actor about his insecurities surrounding the failed marriage.

"Ben is feeling particularly vulnerable and humiliated after his divorce from JLo," a source reportedly close to the celebs told the Daily Mail. "He broke down in tears and admitted to Matt that he was jealous of his lifestyle."

Matt has been happily married to Luciana Barroso since 2005. The duo shares three daughters, who were born in 2006, 2008, and 2010, and the actor considers Luciana's daughter Alexia from a previous marriage to be his own.

Ben allegedly admitted to his best friend that he felt like he made so many wrong choices, while Matt seems to have everything figured out. This was Ben and Jennifer's second shot at love, after their first break up in the early 2000s.

The two dated from 2002 to 2004, getting engaged and breaking up days before their wedding. Jennifer also dedicated her album This Is Me...Then to Ben, also saying he was an inspiration for the album.

After the two went their separate ways, Ben married actress Jennifer Garner in 2005. The couple had three children together before divorcing in 2018. Jennifer married Latin singer Marc Anthony in 2004 and had twins with him before they divorced in 2014.

Ben and Jennifer reconnected in 2021 and married a year later in Las Vegas. Over the past few months, rumors swirled about a rockiness in their relationship - which was confirmed when Jennifer filed for divorce last month.
