Jennifer Lopez and 'oddly animated' Ben Affleck display signs of a 'happy family' on outing amid divorce

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck spent time together with their kids, displaying a "happy family" after filing for divorce.

Bennifer was spotted at Beverly Hills Hotel with their children on Saturday, September 15 for the first time since Jennifer filed for divorc e. They traveled in the same car with Ben being the driver and Jennifer riding as a passenger. Jennifer was wearing a black long sleeve turtleneck crop=top with jeans that flared at the bottom, black heels, hair styled down in waves and paired the look with brown lensed sunglasses. Ben wore a bright blue button up shirt with a grey shirt under, jeans and Air Jordan 1 retro sneakers.

With the soon-to-be divorced couple were their kids, Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12, who Ben shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner , and Jennifer's 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Ben's daughter Violet was not present.

Body language expert, Judi James, told The Mirror US that because Jennifer and Ben's relationship was "so brief, it’s almost hard to see why they should be parading parent-style on outings with the children." Judi said that it's clear that Bennifer "want to display a ‘happy families’ vibe for the children here but without veering into any overkill rituals where they pretend to be still the proverbial ‘best friends’ for the cameras."

There were some signs of tension from both Jen and Ben, according to Judi. They both looked back at the camera's in one shot with their facial expressions suggesting "a matching state of mild anxiety or worry."

While walking inside the hotel. Ben had a can of Coca Cola on the outside hand rather than the inside one, "where it could have been used as a barrier," according to Judi. She also noticed that Jennifer had her bag on the outside hand, "meaning as they walk together their inner hands hang together and close enough to touch." No pictures were caught of them holding hands, but they were close enough that their could have been tension.

Judi said: "If they were genuinely frosty you could expect her bag to be hanging in between them. This and their close proximity at one point do suggest a lack of strong animosity between them."

There is one pose where Ben looks "oddly animated," pushing his head towards Jennifer and throwing both his arms out in a shrug that suggests "exasperation." To Judi, it looks like he's questioning her or offering his options, maybe about the press cameras, while Jennifer walked looking ahead though. Ben has always ben vocal about the attention their relationship would receive from the press.

Jennifer and Ben were then seen in the same vehicle, leaving the Beverly Hills Hotel. The body language expert said that the two "looked understandably dour but I don’t believe from Jen’s pose that she has been reduced to tears." Because Jennifer was touching her face in a spot that looks close to her eye, Judi noticed that she touched the area with the tip of her fingernail, "which would suggests scratching, not dabbing or mopping tears."
