While chatting with Ken Jennings on an episode of Jeopardy! , Sam Watson confessed that his marriage proposal went a bit wonky.

The quiz guru told the audience that his extra special moment didn't go at planned. He said: "We got engaged. We were lucky enough to get engaged in Paris and I had elaborate plans, but I kind of had a romantic moment one evening and I though, 'Let's just knock this out now,' and I had rehearsed the speech and everything, but afterwards she said yes."

Thinking back on the conversation, Sam added, "Let's not worry about that part of it. But, afterwards she and I, neither of us, remember anything that was said to each other. Kind of like Jeopardy!, I blacked out a little bit there."

Ken jested with the Kansas resident, saying: "I don't know everything about women, but I bet they don't want to hear, 'Let's knock this out now,' about a marriage proposal."

Sam's experience of blacking out on Jeopardy! isn't anything new. Contestants have been opening up about the harsh workdays and exhaustion they experience on the set of the game show.

Adriana Harmeyer opened up about the "fatigue" she felt during her time on the show and how it impacted her performance. On the Inside Jeopardy! podcast's June 24 episode, Ken probed into the "possibility of fatigue," noting that Adriana had recorded her last 13 episodes "within less than 72 hours of each other."

Adriana described the "unusual experience" and said when she attempted to calculate it, it equated to something like "about 13 games in 50 hours." She said: "It was more exhausting than I expected going through the whole day. So yeah, jet lag, playing all these games, having the combination of exhausted from playing all day, but also energy from winning all day and getting to come back the next day and do it."

Sam Kavanaugh made a similar confession to The Sun. He said: "The thing that generally surprises people the most is just how much of an endurance game it is," and added: "You tape five episodes, sometimes up to seven episodes a day. Two ToCs ago, I did seven. It is exhausting."
