Tom Brady makes feelings clear on UK soccer culture as fight breaks out in Birmingham vs. Wrexham

NFL hero Tom Brady appeared to be enjoying the spectacle even when events at St Andrews turned ugly with a fight between the Birmingham City and Wrexham players.

The Blues shareholder was joined by soccer legend David Beckham , with the pair watching on from the stands as the home side secured a 3-1 win. A much-anticipated clash due to the A-List ties boasted by both clubs, Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney was also in attendance on the night.

New England Patriots icon Brady was spotted speaking to the "It's Always Sunny" funnyman prior to kick-off before appearing animated on the terraces as he cheered on his adopted team. Clearly enthused by what he was witnessing in front of him, the seven-time Super Bowl winner even clapped along as a brawl broke out on the field.

With 79 minutes on the clock, tensions boiled over between the opposing players before the broadcast cut to Brady in the crowd - as he clapped along amid the melee. Aside from this skirmish, the ex- Tampa Bay Buccaneers ace will have been thrilled with the performance of the Blues players in what was a resounding victory.

With Birmingham's owners having invested a League One-record fee of £15 million ($19.8m) for forward Jay Stansfield over the summer, their investment was rewarded as he scored twice in the victory. Wrexham had took the lead through the Jack Marriot after three minutes - but Chris Davies' team rallied soon after.

Stansfield struck in the 22nd minute, before adding another after half-time, as fellow new recruit Tomoki Iwata put the seal on the win in the 59th minute. The result put Birmingham level with their third tier rivals at the summit of League One, with both teams having tallied up 13 points.

Reflecting on a memorable evening under the lights in England's Second City, Brady later thanked Beckham for helping him to join in with chants during the game. Taking to Instagram, the retired NFL figure said: "Thanks for teaching me how to sing at a football match, David Beckham," before adding: "Can't repeat most of what was said."

As for his relationship with rival owners Reynolds and McElhenney, the superstar explained that he was on good terms with the pair, as he presented the latter with a Blues jersey before the clash. He said: "I’ve been friends with Ryan and Rob for quite a while.

"I’ve seen everything they’ve done with Wrexham, and I've been very impressed by their commitment," he said, as he revealed his admiration for the duo. "They're doing a lot of things the right way, they're two humble guys, hard-working and it's something for us all to emulate. Everyone should learn from that experience."
