Prince Harry's 'reconciliation' with King Charles could take years as warning issued

King Charles' warm 40th birthday message to Prince Harry hints at a possible easing of tensions between them .

After two years of noticeable silence on Harry's birthdays, the Royal Family's official social media accounts posted a cheerful photo of Harry with a birthday cake emoji, captioned: " Wishing the Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday ."

This marks the first public acknowledgment of Harry's birthday by the family since his 2021 celebration. Prince William and Kate Middleton echoed the sentiment, sharing the same birthday post for Harry. Observers are interpreting these gestures as peace offerings from the royals, particularly in light of the recent strife following Harry's explosive Netflix series and his tell-all memoir, "Spare."

A Royal insider has revealed that both Harry and King Charles are interested in mending their strained relationship, but cautions patience. The source shared: "Much has been said over the fractured nature of the Duke's relationship with his family and much of his own doing. He is open to reconciliation as is the King.", reports the Mirror .

"The King's health, his upcoming autumn tour to Australia and the next chapter of his reign are his main focus, but there is always room to improve relations with his son. Whether other family members follow suit is another matter."

However, insiders suggest that fully repairing the rift between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the Royal family may be a lengthy process. Many were taken aback by the messages that flew in lieu of the unresolved tensions between Harry and his family, which seem far from dissipating. However, Royal biographer and Majesty Magazine's editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward suggests there was a significant motive behind these gestures.

Speaking to the Mirror, she revealed: "King Charles would have celebrated his son's 40th from a distance. Milestone birthdays are important to the royals. Whatever upsets Harry has caused would have been forgotten for the day.

"Even Prince William wished his brother Happy Birthday even if it was through clenched teeth. He doesn't trust him, but together with his family, he wished him the best on his milestone birthday."

As for the prince himself, Harry reportedly rang in his notable day with Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet. The couple also graced a charity tennis event and attended a birthday bash for their friend Tyler Perry over the weekend. Rewinding ten years, when Harry celebrated his 30th, he had just wrapped up his military tenure, kick-started the much-acclaimed Invictus Games with its first edition in London, and was deeply embedded in Royal life as a dedicated member of the Firm.

Fast forward a decade, and it's a whole new world for the Duke of Sussex, who's just hit the big 4-0 under the sun-drenched skies of the United States, having bid adieu to his Royal duties. And Ingrid Seward chimes in with insights, noting: "Harry would never have envisaged himself living in California 10 years ago. He was still dedicated to the military although his active career was ending."

"He founded the Invictus Games and the first tournament took place to huge fanfare in London in September 2014 around the time of his 30th birthday. Harry celebrated his 30th with his mates at a grand dinner in Clarence House. His 40th will be in the sunshine of Montecito with a wife and two kids. He says he is happier now. We hope he is."
