Fantasy Football player in disarray after entire team injured just two weeks into NFL season

A fantasy football player has lost their entire roster to injury within the first two weeks of the new NFL season, with just a defensive slot projected to score points in Week 3.

It's been a physical start to the new season with several elite stars being placed on IR in Weeks 1 and 2. The standout injury is to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey , who went first overall in most fantasy drafts around the world.

Most fantasy football players will be dealing with injuries to key players already, but one user has been incredibly unlucky and seen their entire roster wiped out. The team managed by an unknown user was shared on social media after Week 2 of the new NFL season concluded and instantly went viral.

The team is very solid and scored a very respectable 145.2 points in Week 1 before injuries started piling up. The first player impacted on the roster was Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love , who suffered a medial collateral ligament sprain in his left knee in the final seconds of their Week 1 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles .

Since then, the remaining offensive players on the roster have all suffered a similar fate, leaving the user with just the New Orleans Saints defense heading into Week 3. At running back, the user lost both Miami Dolphins rusher Raheem Mostert and Seattle Seahawks star Kenneth Walker.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and 49ers wideout Deebo Samuel were also in the starting lineup but have since been ruled out. The user also has Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku and placed Los Angeles Rams receiver Cooper Kupp in their flex slot, but both have been ruled out.

Despite kickers not often returning big numbers, the user has even lost New York Giants placekicker Graham Geno to injury. It's not been revealed who is on the bench for the unlucky fantasy football player, but it's set to be a busy week on waivers.

Some fantasy leagues allow an extra roster spot for players on IR, and thankfully for the user only two of his injured players have been placed on the list. Kupp and Geno have been placed on IR by their respective teams, but with kickers easy to replace, it's expected that the Rams receiver will occupy that spot.

Love is expected to return to the starting lineup soon, as is Mostert. Samuel and Walker are expected to miss a couple of weeks through injury, but Njoku hasn't been ruled out ahead of Week 3.

A fully healthy roster would make for a serious contender when it comes to the fantasy playoffs, but the user has some way to go before that's a possibility. It's a brutal dose of bad luck, but it's unlikely that the other managers in the league will be too sympathetic.
