    Netflix Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story features Oscar winner Javier Bardem and TV stars

    A new true crime series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story , is set to hit the screens, featuring Oscar winners and rising stars. The series focuses on two brothers, Lyle and Erik Menendez , who shot their parents dead in their Beverly Hills home in 1989.

    The brothers claimed they suffered years of abuse as the motive behind their heinous act during their trial. However, the prosecution argued that the brothers were after the family's wealth.

    This first installment of the Monster anthology series was created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan for Netflix in 2022, titled The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

    Netflix will release all nine episodes of the true-crime series on Thursday, September 19. With a star-studded cast including an Oscar winner and familiar faces, here's who you can expect to see in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.

    Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Lyle Menendez

    The elder Menendez brother, who alongside Erik, murdered his parents in 1989. Nicholas Alexander Chavez had to choose between pursuing American Football or acting, ultimately choosing the latter.

    Chavez is making waves in the TV industry following his role as Spencer Cassadine in the US series General Hospital and his appearance in the Tubi film Crushed.

    Cooper Koch as Erik Menendez

    The younger Menendez sibling also took part in the killing of his parents alongside his brother in 1989. Known for his roles in the slasher film They/Them and the Swallowed, the forthcoming Netflix series is poised to become his breakout role.

    Javier Bardem as José Menéndez

    As the father to Lyle and Erik, Jose is not only a high-powered businessman having served as an executive at RCA Records and CEO of Live Entertainment but also a stern figure, known for his controlling nature and the lofty expectations he holds.

    Javier Bardem's name may resonate most with audiences due to his acclaimed, Oscar-winning portrayal of Anton Chigurh in the Coen brothers' No Country for Old Men and his appearance in the James Bond movie Skyfall.

    His career spans a diverse range of films including Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Aronofsky's Mother!, Villeneuve's Dune films as well as Disney's live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid.

    Chloë Sevigny plays Mary Louise "Kitty" Menéndez

    Chloe Sevigny stars as Mary Louise "Kitty" Menendez, who faces her own battles with mental health issues before her life is tragically ended by her sons.

    Achieving notoriety in the 1990s, Chloe Stevens Sevigny rose to prominence through her work in modeling, featuring in music videos for bands like Sonic Youth and The Lemonheads. She appeared in movies such as Boys Don't Cry, American Psycho, Dogville, Zodiac, and Mr. Nice.

    She also boasts a commendable TV career, thanks to her Golden Globe-winning role as Nicolette Grant in the HBO series Big Love, as well as appearances in Portlandia, American Horror Story, and Netflix's Bloodline.

    Nathan Lane plays Dominick Dunne

    Dominick Dunne is a renowned journalist who covers high-profile criminal cases and plays a significant role in shaping public perception of the brothers' story.

    The American actor has an extensive stage and screen career, with his most notable roles being in The Lion King, The Birdcage, Mouse Hunt, The Producers, and Beau is Afraid. Lane may also be familiar from his appearances in comedy series such as Only Murders in the Building, Frasier, Mad About You, Modern Family, and The Good Wife.

    Ari Graynor plays Leslie Abramson

    Leslie Abramson is Erik's lead defense attorney, known for her tenacious and aggressive courtroom style and for arguing the brothers' abuse claims.

    Dallas Roberts plays Dr. Jerome Oziel

    Dr. Jerome Oziel is Erik's psychologist, to whom he confesses the murders. Dallas Roberts is best known for his roles as Milton Mamet in the third season of The Walking Dead, Eliot Delson in Unforgettable, and Owen Cavanaugh in The Good Wife.

    Leslie Grossman plays Judalon Smyth

    Judalon Smyth is a pivotal character in the arrests of Lyle and Erik, and is prominently featured in the series. Leslie Grossman, a renowned film and TV actress known for her roles in American Horror Story, Fuller House, The Good Place, Dexter, Modern Family and 2 Broke Girls, portrays her.
