General Hospital's Kelly Monaco hits back at show firing as surprising ally joins in

General Hospital star Kelly Monaco threatens to unveil the drama's onset in response to being fired from her role as Sam McCall on the hit soap opera.

Shockingly, the mom of now-dead co-star is adding in her two cents. Fans were just as outraged as Kelly was on being fired from the show after two decades. Kelly has since addressed the situation since GH Spoilers exposed her departure. Following her exit she might shed light on some of the behind-the-scenes decisions that lead to hiring and firing. Standing on her side is Billy Miller’s mom Pat Miller. Billy portrayed Jason Morgan before production moved into a new role of Drew Caine.

General Hospital also fired Billy, which his mom Pat said he didn’t quit on his own accord.

Kelly was axed from General Hospital a few weeks back. One source from the set said she was let go because it was “storyline dictated.” For some that seems like an excuse because the writers control the storylines, and producers often give their input on it.

The TV actress has called out those who fired her, doing so on the first anniversary of her ex co-star Billy Miller’s tragic death in September 2023. In her tribute post to him on Instagram she wrote, “I’ve got your back, and you always had mine. I will tell our story soon enough. I love and miss you and beyond.”

Kelly appears ready to let it all out about what’s going down behind-the-camera on General Hospital, and Pat is too. One fan on X, formerly Twitter, commented on the higher-ups ending the best couple, Billy and Kelly, as they wondered if TPTB is “stupid or evil.” Pat replied, “Both.”

Additionally, Mrs.Miller claimed that Kelly’s problems began when Billy defended Kelly against executive producer Frank Valentini. According to Billy’s mom, he suffered consequences for it. She also claimed that Kelly was ordered not to voice her opinions on social media. Billy’s mom admitted that she hoped Kelly landed in a non-toxic work environment after General Hospital killed her character off.

While fans anticipate Sam McCall’s impending death on the show, some are curious about whether or not Kelly will film her character’s death scenes. This is being questioned now that Lindsay Hartley is back on-screen as a recast of Sam.
