Matt Damon not happy with Ben Affleck's 'cruel' and 'unwarranted' divorce behavior

Matt Damon is not happy with his best friend Ben Affleck .

Matt and Ben have been friends since they were 10-years-old and grew up together in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Things started getting intense between the two after Matt was seen holding Ben's ex, Jennifer Lopez's hand at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. Both Matt and Jennifer were there for their film , Unstoppable, which J.Lo stars in. Ben and Matt are also producers on the flick, however, the Argo director did not attend the film fest.

A source revealed that Matt has not been the biggest fan of Ben's behavior after Jennifer pulled the plug and filed for divorce last month.

The source told US Weekly : "It’s been very difficult for Matt to sit by and condone or even forgive Ben’s behavior, which he finds cruel and totally unwarranted. He’s not trying to butt in for the sake of it and can see very well that life with J. Lo was likely a challenge, but not to a point where she deserved to be humiliated and degraded." They added: "Matt’s big on manners. His wife, Luciana [Barroso], also agrees that Ben’s handled this situation with a serious lack of empathy or class. And they’ve not been shy letting him know that."

The insider also revealed that Jennifer had been "confiding a lot in Matt" and was a "calming influence." They admitted that Jennifer would like to work with the Oppenheimer actor one day, and hopes that their friendship lasts - unlike her last relationship.

The Jenny From the Block singer filed for divorce from Ben on August 20 in a Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed April 26, 2024, for their separation date. She also filed "pro per," which means she filed by herself and without an attorney. Bennifer rekindled their love in July 2021 after dating from 2002 to 2004. They tied the knot in a Las Vegas wedding in 2022 and later gathered friends in family in Georgia to celebrate the big news again.
