Jake Shane returned to his TikTok comedy roots.

In a TikTok on September 24, the internet star acted out a scenario from a fan comment request. This type of video was Jake's claim to fame when he started out on the short-form video app . He would imitate anything from real people to inanimate objects within the scenarios. For this TikTok , the fan's comment read: "do the astronauts that landed on the moon finding out people think they lied about it."

Jake performed the skit as he sat down on a white couch, with a bowl of salad on a white table in front of him and near miscellaneous grey and black stuff next to him on the couch. He started off pretending to answer a FaceTime call with an iPhone case with no iPhone as he donned a casual outfit of a t-shirt and black pants.

In the scenario, he played one of the astronauts sitting in a hotel after getting back from the moon. The salad was the food ordered from room service. As the Therapuss host was talking on the phone to the made-up person, he confirmed they went to the moon and asked why they would think he lied.

Jake, as the character, became irritable when he found out it was another fictional character, Kelly, who told the lie and asked the person if they defended them against Kelly. He added how scared the person was of Kelly.

"One big leap for humankind and ten leaps for f------- Kelly," Jake said before saying it's a "joke" that the fake person on the phone believes Kelly. Jake went on a rant in character about how he didn't want to come back to Earth to this BS, and how none of it matters cause he went to the moon and saw Earth before ending the call in frustration.

Fans loved the skit and took to comment to express how humorous it was as well as share how glad they were to see Jake making his signature videos again. One fan wrote: "needing a day to adjust to the gravity is SENDING ME" A second fan said: "10 LEAPS FOR KELLY IS CRAZY I'm deaddddddd" Another said: "IMTSMISGTB (I missed these so much I’m so glad they’re back)" A fourth fan said: "Jake Shane you will forever be the pinnacle of funny to me. This is hilarious."

While Jake's video is intended for humor. The scenario is rooted in actual conspiracy theories that some people believe that Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin did not actually land on the moon in 1969. They think NASA staged the moon landing. Bill Kaysing, a former US Navy officer was the man who spearheaded the conspiracy. The late 82-year-old (who died in 2005) was head of the technical presentations unit at the Rocket Dyne Propulsion Field Laboratory between 1956 to 1963. in 1976, he self-published a book called We Never Went to the Moon: America’s Thirty Billion Dollar Swindle, where he talked about his baseless claims such as NASA not having the expertise to said someone on the moon.
