As Queen of Country Shania Twain took the stage at the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards many had to do a double take as fans thought she looked completely unrecognizable at the ceremony.
As Shania Twain hosted the second annual country music awards, many accused the That Don't Impress Me Much hitmaker of undergoing drastic plastic surgery . The 59-year-old singer turned heads on the red carpet as she stepped out in a sparkling mermaid-style completely denim gown covered in rhinestones. Shania paired the bold Western-inspired look with blinged out denim gloves and a huge blue ring on her pinky.
And as Shania stuck a pose on the red carpet, many were in disbelief at how different looked than just a few years ago. On X, formerly Twitter, one critic posted: "Shania Twain you don' t even look like the same person! WTF happened?! Stop with the plastic surgery and fillers."
And another viewer added: "Shania twain is so fillered downn not a wrinkle in sight not a crevice to be seen my mom thought she was faith hill." While another simply stated: "Shania Twain is practically unrecognizable."
While another confused viewer wrote: "does anyone know who’s face Shania Twain has? She has always been beautiful so why do this to herself?" And another echoed: "Tell me why I just had to Google who was hosting the #PCCAs because I had no idea it was Shania Twain?" While someone else chimed in: "Who the hell is this person on @peopleschoice calling herself @ShaniaTwain If that's Shania then she has had a couple million in plastic surgery in the past 10 yrs then. She looks like an 18 yr old."
But after she underwent an outfit change during her performance, dozens of fans were blown away as she stepped out in her original Man I Feel Like a Woman look over nearly three decades later. During this, Shania was seen rocking a sexy all-black look featuring black corset top, short black skirt, a cloak, knee-high boots, and a black top hat.
After recreating the iconic look, one fan wrote: "@ShaniaTwain brought the ICONIC original MIFLAW! outfit to the @peopleschoice I'M CRYING. She's just EVERYTHING!!!" And another praised: "Wow!! @ShaniaTwain in an outfit she wore 27 years ago. I can’t even put on a pair of jeans from two years ago without a shoe horn and pliers for the zipper. ICON."
As Shania was granted the honor of hosting this years' 2024 People's Country Music Awards, she gushed over her excitement to lead the night. She told Billboard : "It’s a really full-circle experience for me. It takes me back to my own beginnings in Nashville and as a new recording artist there, and obviously the historic location is always appealing. I meet new artists, and I’m running into old friends, making new friends.”
