A former McDonald's chef has lifted the lid on the secrets behind the fast-food giant's famous burgers .

Chef Mike Haracz is dishing out insider info on his TikTok channel, revealing Big Mac sauce recipes and their specific cooking methods.

In a trending video, he praises a colleague's strict adherence to the official burger assembly protocol , saying: "Eight to a platen. Some stores have different types of grills different sizes so sometimes that's adjusted based on the kind of grills you have. Or if you just need to cook a couple. It's basically a big old George Foreman."

He also emphasizes the importance of cleanliness, highlighting the employee's use of blue gloves when handling raw meat. The clip, titled 'How the McDonald's burgers are cooked', has racked up an impressive 16.7 million views on TikTok.

Chef Haracz said each beef patty gets "one shot" of salt and pepper mix post-cooking, adding: "And then you scrape them off and you stack them in piles of four, like so. They'll probably clean that grill later so that it's ready to go for the next batch. And then they are going to be put in the UHC Universal Heat Cabinets so that when you order it's ready to go."

The video of Mike flipping burgers at McDonald's became a sizzling topic online, not everyone was lovin' it. The former fast-food workers joined the conversation to question his burger seasoning and grill cleaning routine, reports the Mirror .

One viewer said they had never tasted salt and pepper on a McDonald's burger. They commented: "I literally have never tasted salt and pepper on a McDonald's burger in my life," while an ex-employee contributed their insights: "As a former McDonald's employee I can assure you that they ain't gonna clean that grill until the end of the shift."

A social media user added: "I worked at McDonald's for five years. The way he put the patty down in that stack was wrong and his stacking was a mess," with another correcting procedure: "Wrong. Close the platen as soon as all the patties are down. The ones on the far right have already started cooking."
