Ever dashed to McDonald's for a McFlurry or milkshake only to have your sweet-tooth dreams crushed by the "broken" ice cream machine?

It leaves you wondering, just how often does that machine break down? Should they get a new repair guy or is it time McDonald's invested in some beter machinery?

Cue an ex-McDonald's worker is sharing on social media the real scoop behind this frosty fiasco , reports the Mirror .

On Reddit 's You Should Know thread, one whistleblower who claims to have flipped burgers at McDonald's dished out the cold hard truth. They said: "As someone who used to work at McDonald's , it's because the ice cream machine is never cleaned."

They added: "I was told they are supposed to have it cleaned roughly every day, but they only clean it around every month.

"Because it's not taken care of, it breaks down really easily. They end up having to call a repair man to come and fix it which takes forever, just for them to basically put some tape on it and call it a day."

They capped off the reveal with: "It'll start working again only for it to break down a few days later, and rinse and repeat."

The tale of woe regarding McDonald's perpetually out-of-order ice cream machine is a common gripe across social media platforms.

Emphasized recently by a meme featuring a crestfallen face and captioned: "When you go to McDonald's and they say the ice cream machine broke down."

One peeved customer vented: "Drove to three different McDonald's and none of them had a working ice cream machine. I just wanted a Oreo McFlurry."

Another frustrated sweet tooth lamented, asking the universe: "Why is the McDonald's ice cream/milkshake machine always broken? ".

The Mirror contacted McDonald's for comment. The treasured McFlurry continues to be a favored item at the famed fast food joint, yet its companion spoon recently triggered a wave of confusion among patrons.

Numerous dessert aficionados have mistaken the peculiarly-shaped plastic spoon for a straw, only to find themselves shortchanged when they couldn't slurp up that last morsel of melty goodness.

But as it turns out, this utensil was ingeniously crafted to assist McDonald's crew in whipping up that perfect McFlurry blend.

Well owners get off your asses and make your employees clean the machines, it gets old that I have gone to the same McDonalds 3 times and every time they say their machine is broke. Step it up.
