Jim Furyk couldn't contain his emotions after Team USA defeated the International Team in Montreal to notch another Presidents Cup win.

Furyk was the captain of the Americans and led them to their 10th straight Presidents Cup win, silencing South Korean star Tom Kim in the process. That said, Team USA's road to the win was not guaranteed, especially as the competition started with the International Team tying the contest at 5-5 after the Americans had sped to a 5-0 lead .

Then on the final day, 38-year-old Keegan Bradley clinched the winning point for the Americans, after star Si Woo Kim failed to capitalize on his opportunities. After the nerve-wracking display, Furyk regained his composure and explained what the win meant to him as the captain of the team.

"It's a lot of fun," he said, per NBC Sports. "I love these guys. I love these events. We love the camaraderie. We put a lot of heart and soul into it but ultimately, these players were amazing. It was a really good group of 12, an easy bunch. I had great leadership at the top. They made the captain's job really easy.

"And these guys played their hearts out this week and played really, really well in the back nine. We talked about being a dog all week, being a tougher team. I just feel like those back nine holes, if you looked at how many holes won and lost, I feel like we would kind of own the back nine this week and that was the difference."

Furyk also was the captain of the 2018 Ryder Cup team, which saw the Americans lose handily to the European team. The 54-year-old was criticized heavily for the performance and after the win in Montreal, he explained what he learned from the experience.

"I was ahead of schedule where I was in Paris," Furyk recalled. "I think I was always half a day ahead on my pairings on being prepared for the next step. And what happens at the end of matches ... we were already working on that well ahead of time. I felt very prepared going into every match.

"I think most of what I took away from 18 is just being more prepared being a half a day, a half a step ahead I said of where I was in 18 and it made me feel more comfortable about the groupings we were putting out."

And Furyk's pairings work, as evidenced by the win. Additionally, Bradley explained what it felt like playing under Furyk and his leadership as the team looked to get ready for the Ryder Cup in 2025.

"Well, we're going to copy a lot of what Jim Furyk did this week," Bradley said . "He set a culture here for us and we're going to carry that over into Bethpage and I hope a lot of these 12 are on that team."

Along with praising the job Furyk did during the Presidents Cup, Bradley shared that he "missed" playing with his fellow golfers in a team environment. "I missed the guys," Bradley continued.

"The guys, they're just incredible. They really love each other, the wives and caddies love each other. It's such an amazing atmosphere and I'm just so proud of the team and I'm proud of just being here."
