Brits facing the seasonal woes of drying laundry indoors have been gifted a golden nugget of wisdom by decluttering pro Nicola Lewis, who's making waves online with almost 200,000 fans on her Instagram handle @thisgirlcanorganise. Amidst the gloom of shorter days and persistent drizzles, bid farewell to l anguishing wash loads as Nicola imparts a "secret" washing machine hack designed to burn through drying times.

Check out her latest Instagram reel captioned " How to dry your clothes indoors ," where she champions executing the "Drum/Spin" function not once but twice, coining the viral catchphrase " Double Spin for the Win ". Nicola enlightens that an extra whirl post-wash, sans additional H2O, shakes off surplus sogginess from garments, slashing the time they take to air dry.

Her top tip in the video caption: "Double spin your laundry! Your clothes will come out much drier, allowing them to dry quicker. Always give your clothes a quick shake before hanging to dry to remove any creases," , reports the Express .

However, her know-how isn't confined to just spin cycles.

Nicola reveals her savvy approach to drying laundry indoors while keeping energy usage at bay. She swears by combining an airer with a dehumidifier, calling it a game-changer in the world of indoor laundry management

"A dehumidifier will draw moisture from the air and dry your clothes quicker," she explained. For those lacking a dehumidifier, Nicola's top tip is to position the airer in a sunny spot and let a breeze in by opening a window, which aids airflow.

A thrifty hint from Nicola to promote drying is engaging a fan; she elaborates, "A fan will circulate cold air, helping your clothes to dry faster while also preventing mould," also pointing out it's a more cost-effective option than cranking up the heat. To enhance air circulation around your garments, Nicola advises adequately spacing them on the airer and first putting them on hangers.

She insists that for uniform dryness, you should give the clothes a couple of turns during drying.
