Keegan Bradley has shot down rumors that American golfers don't get along during team tournaments. Last year's Ryder Cup was marred by speculation that Patrick Cantlay had caused tension in the Team USA camp over pay disputes, even refusing to wear a team cap during play.

However, the 32 year old later denied these claims as "totally unfounded", despite the team's 16.5 - 11.5 loss to Luke Donald's Team Europe. Bradley recently competed in the Presidents Cup at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, where the US's top golfers faced off against the best from around the world.

It was his first major team competition since the 2014 Ryder Cup, and he was joined by teammates like Scottie Scheffler , Xander Schauffele , and Wyndham Clark under captain Jim Furyk. After their 18.5 - 11.5 win over Mike Weir's international team, Bradley raved about the team's camaraderie.

In a post-tournament interview, Bradley said: "I gained a knowledge of the team room. You always hear about the US team room not being whatever, and this is the most..." before correcting himself with a 10-word message: "The greatest team room I've ever been a part of."

Meanwhile, Clark insisted that Team USA is "very close" and that people shouldn't believe the rumors. He explained: "Contrary to what people thought last year at the Ryder Cup, we were in my opinion closer than the Europeans.", reports the Express .

"The media tries to divide us apart, and this year we were just as close if not closer. We had so much camaraderie and positive energy between us. When things weren't going well, we still were all picking each other up. It was an amazing team room. So many laughs, so many fond memories."

Despite being left out of the 2023 Ryder Cup lineup, Bradley is gearing up to captain Team USA at the prestigious Bethpage Black course come next September. The 38 year old golfer may not have been the PGA's initial pick for the captain's role, but he embraced the opportunity with open arms after the legendary Tiger Woods graciously stepped aside.

In a June statement about his upcoming captaincy, Bradley expressed his fervor: "My passion and appreciation for golf's greatest team event have never been stronger. The Ryder Cup is unlike any other competition in our sport. And this edition will undoubtedly be particularly special given the rich history and enthusiastic spectators at this iconic course. I look forward to beginning preparations."

On the European front, English pro Donald is set to lead Team Europe once more following their triumph in Rome the previous year. With a stellar record of victories in all four Ryder Cups he's participated in, along with his experience as vice captain in 2018 and 2021 under Thomas Bjorn and Padraig Harrington respectively, Donald brings a wealth of expertise to the table.
