Keegan Bradley was eager to tell wife every day about U.S. teammates - 'I was shocked'

Keegan Bradley was full of praise for the camaraderie within Team USA at the Presidents Cup, a sentiment he eagerly shared with his wife.

Bradley played a pivotal role in securing victory for the U.S. against the International team in the Ryder Cup-style event , with a final score of 18.5-11.5 in Montreal. This marked his first representation of his country in a decade since the US team's defeat to Europe at the Ryder Cup.

Despite rumors of tension and lack of unity within the U.S. camp, Bradley experienced none of that. He anticipates a similar dynamic when the team faces Europe in the Ryder Cup come September 2025, where he will serve as captain at Bethpage Black.

  • He was particularly impressed by the team's atmosphere, stating: "I had sort of heard the team room wasn't great. [But it was] head and shoulders better than any team room I've ever been in. I can't imagine a better one.

"These guys are all legit friends. Not PGA Tour friends, they're 'we're- going-on-vacation-for-a-week-type friends'. Their wives are friends. The wives all get along. The caddies are all friends.

"There are two, three four layers of this being close. The coaches are all friends. It's really special. I was telling my wife [Jillian] every day. I just couldn't believe it. It shocked me. These guys really care for each other."

In a surprising revelation during the Presidents Cup, Bradley mentioned that his captain role might prevent him from teeing up alongside his team in the upcoming Ryder Cup where the U.S. aims to reclaim their title. He admitted: "After going through it, I don't know if I can, honestly.

"I couldn't imagine doing Jim's [Furyk, the US captain at the Presidents Cup] job and playing. I don't know how you can physically do it.

"I will have great assistant captains. Brandt [Snedker, an assistant in Montreal] will be one of them. I'm going to cross that bridge. And I'll have to do some special stuff to get on that team."

Moreover, with the US PGA lifting its ban on LIV Golf participants, this change could herald the entrance of top-tier players like Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka into the US Ryder Cup fold, with Koepka having notably received a captains pick for the Rome games in 2023.

Of course Keegan has become everybody's friend and team mate. He is the coach of the next Ryder Cup. He can make choices. He should have been on the last Ryder Cup team but Zach and the Ole boys network took their friends and brushed Keegan off! He felt ostracized and hurt. Now he has control and the love him now!
