Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter has opened up about her rocky start in the music biz, revealing she was "constantly guided and misguided." The Espresso hitmaker dished out the truth about her early struggles in the industry.

The 25-year-old star recounted her bumpy ride through her first four albums with Disney's Hollywood Records. Rising from the ashes, Carpenter's fifth album, Emails I Can't Send, was pegged as an emotional voyage by the artist herself.

As 2023 dawned, Carpenter's tune changed to a victory note with the rave around Espresso and the unveiling of her sixth studio album, Short N' Sweet . Chatting with Time Magazine, Carpenter reflected on the past saying: "For a long time, I was constantly guided and misguided."

Showing resilience, she voiced appreciation for the detours that had thrown her off track: "I'm so grateful for all of those times where I was led astray, because now I'm a lot more equipped going into situations where I have to trust my own instincts."

Carpenter didn't sugarcoat her words when speaking of Emails I Can't Send, declaring frankly: "My last album was f------ sad, straight up," reports the Mirror .

Carpenter stressed the significance of embracing youth, saying: "I wanted to make sure to still be young while I'm young."

She also discussed the strain of upholding an impeccable image, describing it as being a "little robot angel" in life. She warned that this could lead to "a lot of regrets later."

She admitted that this pressure had a significant impact on her well-being, confessing she was emotionally unstable at the time. The Pennsylvania-born singer openly revealed that releasing her album marked a turning point for her, encouraging her to accept flaws and "make some mistakes."

After a successful 2024, Carpenter confessed to feeling overwhelmed by realizing childhood dreams, including a coveted performance on Saturday Night Live (SNL). In an interview with Time, she shared her amazement: "There were so many things I dreamt of doing as a little girl I got to do this year that felt like such a cool, sweet, little bucket-list moment for my younger self."

She didn't hold back when discussing her intense reaction to the SNL news, revealing she vomited upon learning she'd be appearing on the show. She also expressed excitement about her appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), describing it as a long-standing dream.

Reflecting on her journey, she observed how her actual path deviated from her plans: "But then it all just seemed so, not even out of reach, just like I had a different plan in my head of when it was all supposed to happen."

After opening for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour, Sabrina Carpenter is ready to spread holiday joy with her Netflix Christmas special, A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter. The star hinted that the upcoming show will be an hour of "literal nonsense" and won't just feature her singing next to a tree.

She assured fans it would be entertaining and chaotic with numerous guest appearances.
