Shoppers can't get over price of berries at world's most luxurious supermarket

Yet, one shopper was left in utter disbelief by the sky-high prices at what's dubbed the world's most opulent grocery store .

From indulging in a spa day to grabbing drinks or coffee, or finally purchasing that long-coveted item, treating ourselves is a universal joy. For some, this includes splurging on a high-end grocery haul - Erewhon Market is the go-to for gourmet and organic goods.

Scattered across California , these stores aren't just known for their exclusive offerings but also as a playground for the rich and famous. The buzz is real, with people flocking to try the "world's most famous" viral smoothies, whipped up by celebrities like Sophia Richie Grange, Hailey Bieber, Kourtney Kardashian , Sabrina Carpenter, among others.

One bargain hunter, with a penchant for thrifting and snagging deals, decided to venture into the upscale food emporium. She was astounded by the cost of a mere box of berries.

Vanessa, who documented her Erewhon adventure on TikTok under the handle @vanessaleen, engaged in a guessing game with a friend over the price of a mixed berry box at the chic organic market.

Her friend's estimate came in at $19.20 [$14.65], while Vanessa's own guess was $24 [£18.32]. They were both shocked to discover the actual price tag: an eye-watering $41.18 [£31.42] for strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries.

In a string of additional videos, Vanessa revealed that other fruit items will also result in a hefty bill. A box of pomegranate seeds is priced at $34 [£25.95], and watermelon enthusiasts will have to shell out $26.12 [£19.93] for a box of the fruit chunks.

Additionally, a tub of dragon fruit is tagged at $29.30.

She disclosed that a box of cucumbers will cost you $27.19, while a box of organic potatoes with rosemary is priced at $25.72. For those who favor sweet potato, you'll need to shell out $24.03.

Green beans are marked at $25.01. Vanessa also discovered a turkey breast for a staggering $75, while a single piece of salmon is priced at $16.40. For four boiled eggs, you'll be charged $10.
