Inside major Butler security operation as Trump returns to rally at assassination attempt site

Former president Donald Trump is planning another rally in Butler, Pennsylvania , this time with hyper-vigilant security- about three months after a 20-year-old gunman tried to assassinate him.

Months after the attempted assassination , Trump will return to the Butler Farm Show grounds, and Elon Musk may join him, potentially drawing huge crowds to the event. On Saturday, doors open at 10 a.m. at the agricultural show located at 625 Evans City Road. At 5 p.m., Trump is expected to make his remarks.

Trump's right ear was slightly wounded by a gunshot at the July 13 rally while Buffalo Township firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed while protecting his family from gunfire during the incident. David Dutch of Plum and James Copenhaver of Moon were hurt in the shooting. The Trump campaign said they will be honored during the event on Saturday.

For the occasion, the Trump team engaged a private security company. According to Osche, there are many agencies involved in event safety, and the number of participants has also increased since the July rally.

Large box trucks and trailers have been parked along the Farm Show grounds as a safety measure, according to Osche, which is different from the last rally. According to U.S. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, there have been "comprehensive changes and enhancements" to protective operations, resources, and communication capabilities. He claimed that the Secret Service "takes the responsibility to ensure his safety and security very seriously" and that Trump is "receiving heightened protection."

“Regarding the October 5 event in Butler, we are coordinating closely with the Pennsylvania State Police as well as local law enforcement in and around Butler Township,” he said. “We are also leveraging other federal security resources to expand personnel and technology.”

Guglielmi stated that he is unable to provide specifics about the security improvements in order to preserve the integrity of the Secret Service's operations. State, local, and federal law enforcement will be more present, he said.
