MrBeast spent over $100M making 'mind-blowing' Beast Games Amazon show

YouTube star MrBeast has admitted he spent over $100m making his Beast Games Amazon show.

The popular content creator is hoping the show will prove to be a huge hit with viewers despite the current backlash against him. MrBeast - real name Jimmy Donaldson - is known for being YouTube's most-subscribed creator, however, recent controversy has seen his popularity dwindle.

The upcoming game show has seen him slammed after crew members have been hospitalized due to falling set pieces and has seen contestants suing MrBeast over "inhumane" working conditions . But he appears to be unfazed by any negativity surrounding the project and has continued to promote it to his fans.

Speaking on Logan Paul's IMPAULSIVE podcast this week he bragged about the production and claimed it has broken multiple records. He said: "We broke over 40 world records while filming Beast Games... most contestants of any game show in history, largest cash prize of any game show in history, most cameras recording simultaneously in any production in history. I could go on and on."

The boasting continued: "If there’s a world record for game shows, we broke it. I really need Amazon to tell me what I can or can’t say. …it is literally going to blow your mind. It is ten episodes, and every episode makes my YouTube videos look like child’s play." He then admitted to spending a mind-blowing $100 million making the show.

The budget included building a "walled-in city" where contestants lived while filming which cost $15 million. MrBeast also claims he gave away over $20 million to participants in the show, including the generous $5 million grand prize.

Neither MrBeast or podcast hosts and fellow YouTubers Logan Paul and KSI mentioned the current controversy surrounding their collaborative project Lunchly . The backlash against MrBeast and his team also remained off the topics of conversation.

Commenters on the video admitted that they "can’t wait" for other creators to react to the episode because of the trio’s collective silence. However, the podcast episode was only filmed on the day that Lunchly was officially launched. All three creators have hit back at criticism of the lunch kit since then.

MrBeast wrote on X: “Obviously eating fresh chicken and broccoli is healthier, but if someone is going to eat a premade meal like this (which millions of people do through Lunchables), then I think giving them a higher quality version at roughly the same price is a net good in my opinion, and why we launched Lunchly.”

But his explanation has done little to ease the criticism over his involvement in the product. He has still made no official comment on the backlash against Beast Games, or the criticism aimed at him when he publicly distanced himself from former collaborator Ava Kris Tyson.
