Actor Keanu Reeves took the racetrack by storm this past Saturday, making an adrenalin-filled debut in professional auto racing at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Taking part in the Toyota GR Cup Series race, the Hollywood star from "The Matrix" fame nearly tangled metal when he spun out on lap nine, gracefully skidding onto the grass and dodging a potential collision with another speedster.

Actor Reeves, who took 31st place in qualifying among 35 speed demons, showed off his competitive spirit as he crossed the finish line in 25th place after the hectic 45-minute chase.

"I think being that close to it, just seeing the speed and the way that they're going at the turns and exiting the turns is something unbelievable," recounted a buzzing Reeves post-race, reflecting on the intoxicating rush of high-speed competition.

In an ode to his other artistic ventures, Reeves maneuvered the No. 92 BRZRKR car, which serves as a rolling advertisement for his graphic novel "The Book of Elsewhere."

While new to the pro circuit, Reeves is no stranger to victory lane, having conquered the celebrity edition of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach back in 2009, reports the Express US .

Yet, Reeves' pursuit of speed isn't over; he's revving up for another bout of action on Sunday's sequel race.

Amidst events like the prestigious Indy 8 Hour, Reeves continues to draw fanfare and media spotlight, igniting even more excitement around the races.

His enthusiasm for motorsports has been on public display multiple times, switching from the glamour of Hollywood to the gasoline-fueled rush of Grand Prix events - this summer at the MotoGP Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland with his partner Alexandra Grant, and previously soaking up the Formula 1 British Grand Prix qualifiers, which he dubbed "thrilling."

Beloved for his portrayals in franchises such as John Wick and The Matrix, Reeves' passion for racing is no act, genuinely driving his participation both on screen and track.

Halfway through the dramatic race on Saturday, Reeves found himself in a harrowing moment but emerged without so much as a scratch. After regaining control following his spin-out, he was back in action, determined to see the checkered flag.

The playing field of the Toyota GR Cup Series levels out with all contenders vying for supremacy in matching Toyota GR86 autos, yet it was Reeves' star power that cranked up the event's buzz, signaling that this actor thrives not only under the limelight but also amidst the roar of engines and the screech of tires.
