In a harrowing courtroom exhibition, jurors witnessed chilling footage showing Gregor Bauld, who confessed to manslaughter but is contesting the charge of murder , relentlessly pursuing his mother, Christine, 55, onto the street as she screamed, only to viciously stab her . Her husband, shadowing the tragic murderous chase, implored for police intervention from passersby.

At 22 years old, Bauld is captured on video making a pair of stabbing motions at his mother right in their The Coppice, Burbage home's driveway before the assault spills out onto the street, ending with Christine's collapse on that fateful Sunday morning, March 3.

Captured by multiple CCTV cameras, along with the audio, the terrifying scene unfolds the desperate cries of Christine mix with Tom Bauld's urgent calls: "Run! Run! Run! Run, Tina. Police. Police. Police. Help!"

Recounted to the Leicester Crown Court jury, Mrs. Bauld suffered stab wounds to her back and front, two of which were fatal as they severed veins connected to her heart, leading to her immediate death at the scene.

Subsequent to the attack, Gregor paced back towards their abode, composed, while Tom Bauld stood motionlessly near his wounded spouse, calling out for "help" and urging people to call law enforcement. In the aftermath, he cradled Christine in his embrace on the pavement, surrounded by the stunned gaze of onlookers, reports Leicestershire Live .

The ambulance service was swiftly on the scene within four minutes of receiving multiple calls from the cul-de-sac, arriving around 11.20am. Emergency surgery was performed on Mrs Bauld as she lay bleeding in the street, but she was tragically declared dead just before noon.

It was previously revealed to the jury that Bauld had a cocktail of drugs, including ketamine and LSD, in his system at the time of his arrest. His parents had known about his drug use since he was roughly 13 years old.

Three days prior to the horrific incident, late on Thursday night, Tom Bauld heard an eerie "howling" emanating from his son's bedroom. Upon investigating, he discovered his son snorting a white powder through part of a biro pen.

Prosecutor Gordon Aspden KC painted a picture for the jury of the defendant enjoying a "comfortable and happy childhood with two loving parents", until he began smoking cannabis around the age of 13, which led to "psychotic behaviour".

Aspden explained that Bauld developed a growing "developing antipathy and dislike of his mother" later in life. Following his arrest, Bauld made the shocking statement to Leicestershire Police officers that "that's justice", and falsely labelled his mother as a "paedophile", according to Mr Aspden.

In the tense hours leading up to the fatal stabbing, Tom Bauld had seized some tablets found in his son's trouser pockets. This caused Bauld to become emotional, confessing to his father that he relied on drugs to manage his "anxiety and nerves".

Bauld, who has no fixed address, has denied murder but admitted to the lesser charge of manslaughter, indicating there was no intention to kill or cause serious harm.

Prosecutor Mr. Aspden instructed the jurors that Bauld should be found guilty of murder unless they conclude he was suffering from "diminished responsibility". He explained that the defence must prove Bauld had an "abnormality of mental functioning" due to a recognized medical condition, which would render him not guilty of murder.

Mr. Aspden acknowledged that the prosecution accepts Bauld has such an abnormality, specifically schizophrenia. However, he argued that it was Bauld's voluntary consumption of a mix of illegal drugs, combined with his anger, that led to the killing.

The jury then heard testimony from witness Carl Pallett, a builder who was working on a nearby roof in The Coppice. Pallett's wife is a friend of Christine Bauld.

He recounted: "I was on the roof and I heard a yelp sound - I thought it was an animal."

"I then heard a distressed shout - very distressed. I got down and walked round to the drive and could see someone lying on the floor. As I got closer the guy was shouting out, 'My son's killed my wife, my son's killed my wife. There was a lot of blood around the body but I believe she was still alive."

Pallett described the large wound on Mrs. Bauld's back and noted that Gregor Bauld was standing near the gate to the family's property. He recounted, "[He] was stood at the gate, stood there quite calmly. I didn't notice any aggression, any nervousness."

Mr Pallett relayed that Tom Bauld then hollered at his son: "You killed my wife. Get back in the effing house."

He continued describing the ensuing chaos as an ambulance came, followed by another, along with a medic's car, a fire truck and a slew of police vehicles. He reported that police directed him to stay inside his vehicle, where he witnessed Gregor Bauld, now in handcuffs, being led to a police van.

Mr. Pallett gave his impression of Bauld, indicating his expression was unyielding, saying, "I felt there wasn't much emotion showing."

The proceedings of the trial are ongoing.
