Mayim Bialik makes an appearance on Jeopardy! but not in the way people are thinking.

The former host was a clue on Wednesday's, October 9, game of Jeopardy!. The trivia gameshow saw three-day champ Mark Fitzpatrick, a content manager from Riverside, Connecticut facing off against Robert Franke, a data analyst from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and Colleen Kelly, a girl-between-gigs from Melrose, Massachusetts. During the first round of Jeopardy, there was a clue for $600 picked for the TV Coupling category. The clue read: "Sheldon & Amy, Pure Genius."

Colleen guessed correctly with "What is The Big Bang Theory." Mayim played neuroscientist Amy Fowler who was the love interest of Shelden Cooper. She was on the hit CBS series from 2010 to 2019, when the show ended.

The controversial actress went on to co-host Jeopardy with Ken Jennings in 2021. The two were the permanent co-hosts after the tragic passing of Alex Trebek in 2020. There had been a rotation of guest hosts following his death when the show’s former producer Mike Richards was chosen and swiftly removed after disturbing and offensive remarks that resurfaced a 2013 episode of his podcast.

Mayim was then axed from the show in December 2023, making Ken the permanent host for all of season 40 at the time and currently now with season 41. There were many rumors about why she was fired and then in February 2024, executive producer Michael Davies addressed the reason at the Television Critics Association's winter 2024 press tour ABC panel about unscripted television.

"When I took over the show, we were forced into that situation," Michael explained about the two-host setup. "Over the past two and a half seasons, what we’ve heard from a lot of from television stations and other interested parties is that they wanted more consistency. They wanted a single host."

He added that the Call Me Kat star was a "a superb host" and expressed that they hoped "to continue working with her on primetime versions." He concluded saying that "this conversation is ongoing."

Mayim shared how she felt about the gameshow post her exit and stated she would still be down to host Jeopardy! again in an September 10 interview with Fox News Digital .

"I’m definitely still a fan of the show and very honored that I was nominated for an Emmy for my work there," she elaborated. "That is something that I got to change in my bio, that I was nominated for Jeopardy! So, yeah, it’s something I’m still very proud of. And yeah, we’ll see what happens this season."
