Prince William and Kate Middleton have a strict rule for Prince George at home to 'regulate' his screen habit

Despite having all the resources that come with being senior members of the royal family, including the Duchy of Cornwall which Prince William inherited when he became Prince of Wales , he and wife Princess Kate Middleton face similar parenting challenges as many others. They are hands-on parents to their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, often handling daily tasks like cooking dinner and doing the school run themselves.

The royal couple has always encouraged their children to play outside and develop an interest in sports. However, they have had to enforce a strict rule for their eldest son, George - limiting his screen time.

This rule was revealed by William during a royal engagement two years ago at BAFTA's headquarters, where he has been president since 2010. He confessed that they were trying to "regulate" George's screen time as he was seriously "fascinated" by video games.

This is a struggle that many parents can relate to, ensuring their child doesn't spend too much time glued to a screen.

"At the moment it's trying to regulate the gaming... monitoring screen time. Got to be careful of that," William shared during his visit. "They're fascinated by it. George particularly. He's more interested in it. The other two are a bit too small at the moment but they love the films. I adore film and gaming as well," reports the Mirror .

As Sky News reported, a study has indicated that excessive screen time can pose "multiple risks" to children's overall well-being, including causing issues in friendships, reducing concentration levels, and increasing hyperactivity.

With Kate dedicating much of her royal focus to early years development - and palace insiders previously dubbing it her "life's work" - it's probable that these worries about excessive screen time are a top priority for the Prince and Princess of Wales as they strive to control how much time their children spend on electronic gadgets.
