Geno Smith furiously smashed a tablet on the sideline after throwing a second interception as his Seattle Seahawks fell to the San Francisco 49ers .

On Thursday Night Football, the 49ers secured a crucial NFC West division win over the Seahawks at Lumen Field. San Francisco dictated the contest from start to finish, surging to a dominant lead en route to a 36-24 victory to move level with Seattle - who have lost three straight games - at 3-3.

But for Smith and the Seahawks offense, it was a disappointing outing. The 34-year-old finished with 312 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions - and his frustration was clear as the Seahawks dropped a third successive contest following defeats to the Detroit Lions and New York Giants .

Smith was particularly angry after throwing his second interception. In the fourth quarter, with the Seahawks trailing 24-17 and sitting on their own 13, Smith snapped the ball, stepped up in the pocket, and fired a pass intended for DK Metcalf, only to see 49ers rookie cornerback Renardo Green step in front of the receiver and snatch the interception.

Given the advantageous field position, the interception was costly and Smith knew it. Once he returned to the Seahawks bench, Smith - who is now tied for the lead in interceptions across the NFL - smashed a Microsoft Surface tablet repeatedly against his head before spiking it to the floor.

The 49ers took advantage of the opportunity, turning the interception into six points as Brock Purdy - who finished with 255 yards and three touchdowns - picked out tight end George Kittle in the end zone for his second score of the night. The Seahawks continued to fight back, as Smith hit Tyler Lockett for a nine-yard touchdown with under two minutes remaining, but 49ers rookie running back Isaac Guerendo burst downfield with a 76-yard rush.

Guerendo slid to force the Seahawks to use a timeout before Kyle Juszczyk powered through to score a six-yard rushing touchdown. The drive capped an effective night for the 49ers offense, a unit desperate to deliver a big performance and keep pace with the Seahawks back in the division.

Purdy led the unit to 483 total yards, while Jordan Mason and Guerendo - as well as the quarterback - tallied 228 rushing yards. It was an accomplished performance, with the 49ers avoiding turnovers while efficiently moving the ball and controlling the game against a dangerous opponent.

The 49ers also used big plays to disrupt the Seahawks, with Deebo Samuel scoring a 76-yard touchdown after darting inside the defensive back, hauling in the pass, and taking it to the house. Samuel finished with 102 yards on three receptions.

As for the Seahawks, the defeat will sting. Following the loss to the Lions, Mike McDonald's team has now lost back-to-back games at home to the Giants and 49ers.

On Thursday night, Smith threw 52 pass attempts, which highlights how unbalanced the offense can be at times; the star running back, Kenneth Walker, put up 32 yards and scored a touchdown on 14 carries. The 3-3 Seahawks are next in action against the 3-2 Atlanta Falcons on the road on Sunday, Oct. 20.
