FOX analyst Colin Cowherd launches into 'terrifying' three-minute Kansas City Chiefs rant

Colin Cowherd believes the Kansas City Chiefs are once again the team to beat in the NFL .

On Monday, the Chiefs secured a 26-13 win over the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium, improving to a perfect 5-0 on the season. The comfortable victory was all the more impressive considering Kansas City was playing without several of their star players, who continue to remain sidelined due to injury.

Running back Isiah Pacheco is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a fractured fibula, while wide receiver Rashee Rice is reportedly “unlikely” to play again this season after injuring his knee in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers .

Wideout Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, meanwhile, is likely to miss the entirety of the regular season while rehabbing from a shoulder injury he sustained in the Chiefs’ preseason opener.

On the heels of the Chiefs’ latest dominant performance, Cowherd commended Kansas City for not allowing the abundance of health setbacks to derail their season. “Everybody in the league except the Chiefs, even the good teams, it's circumstantial. Is this guy playing? What's the weather? Is that guy playing? Not with the Chiefs,” he said on a recent episode of ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd.’

“Star running back out, number one receiver out, missed a field goal, fluky interception in the end zone, it doesn't matter, over 400 yards, blow out the Saints.

“They're missing their top two weapons. I mean, outside of Travis Kelce, [Isiah] Pacheco and Rashee Rice, missing them. It doesn't matter.”

In the absence of their biggest playmakers, the Chiefs have turned to familiar faces to carry the load on offense. Wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster reeled in seven receptions for 130 yards against the Saints, marking his first 100-yard game since October of 2022 when he last played for Kansas City.

Veteran halfback Kareem Hunt, who the Chiefs drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, additionally excelled on the ground, amassing 27 carries for 102 yards and one touchdown.

“JuJu Smith-Schuster's career's done. New England disappears. Oh, no, last night he had seven catches, 130 yards. Kareem Hunt, I think he's out of the league. Oh no, no he's not. 102 yards and touchdown,” Cowherd continued.

“They just make it work. They just make everything work. JuJu Smith-Schuster, productive in Kansas City, disappears in New England, goes back to Kansas City. You're like, wow, he's a go-to receiver last night. Between Andy Reid and Mahomes, they make everything work.”

Despite the fact that three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes is having a poor season for his standards, the Chiefs still find themselves tied for the best record in the NFL. According to Cowherd, this should strike fear into opposing teams.

“Everybody in this league is playing for second place. I mean, think about this. Here's what's terrifying,” he added. “Kansas City's 5-0, Mahomes is 19th in passer rating, 16 [touchdowns] six picks. If they were only good at quarterback, what would they be? And Spaggs, his defenses historically always get better late.”
