A dad's 'savage' response to a nine-year-old boy who incessantly kicked his daughter's seat on an overnight flight has gone viral , earning him praise online. The 14-year old girl explained the ordeal on Reddit, explaining how they were returning from India and she was eager to get some sleep on the flight .

But the peace was shattered by a young boy behind her who kept kicking her seat . "When my dad and I were on a flight back home from India. Behind us there was a family of three, with their son behind me, and the mum behind my dad."

"It was a nighttime flight and everyone was beat. It was also a small, budget airline with not much legroom."

She added "About 10 minutes into the flight, the kid behind me started kicking my seat. To be clear, he wasn't very little, maybe nine or 10.

"I let my dad know and he politely asks him to stop, and he does... for about 10 seconds. We tell him again (more firmly this time), but no luck."

Her father reclined his seat all the way back, cramping the space for the mischievous child, reports the Mirror .

She concluded: "When they ask him to put it up he doesn't. They call the flight attendant and the jerk's dad talks to him."

The flight attendant supported the father, having witnessed the boy's behavior, and confirmed that he was within his rights to keep his seat reclined. The daughter recalled: "He walks away with the dad left spluttering and cursing under his breath. Fun times! " She added that the parents eventually realized what was happening and, after some stern whispers, got the kid to stop kicking.

However, they continued to glare at the daughter, her father, and the flight attendant . The father kept his seat reclined for another hour, but eventually got up once he was sure the parents had learned their lesson.

One commenter praised the father's actions, saying: "Your dad gets an A+ in petty revenge. Some people can't be reached unless they are directly impacted. As long as the kid was kicking someone else's seat, they couldn't be bothered. People like these and the little sociopath they are raising should be dropped off on their own deserted island."

Another suggested: "He should have waited till they had drinks (hopefully cold) then reclined rapidly - oops sorry! " A third commenter applauded: "Well done. Made them make the kid stop kicking, and got the added benefit of making them seem crazy. Two thumbs, way up."

We had this very same thing happen flying back from Denmark. The child kept kicking our seats and for hours and the parents did not stop the child bad parenting and I’ll tell you what we had to lean forward in our seats and my poor mother-in-law who was up in her ages, her back was hurting as well as mineparents today need to parent and not let their little brats get away with being so obnoxious

Good for the father. This says it "Some people can't be reached unless they are directly impacted.".
