Ariana Grande appears to have clapped back at body shamers in Charli XCX 's remixed song Sympathy Is A Knife, delivering some powerful and direct lyrics. In the track, Grande, fresh from her attendance at the 2024 Olympics and her role in the highly anticipated Wicked movie , serves up a biting critique with lines like: "It's a knife when they dissect your body on the front page."

Another piercing line from the song goes: "It's a knife when they won't believe you, why should you explain?"

Ariana's collaboration with Charli XCX comes amidst scrutiny over her appearance and recent denials of cosmetic surgery .

Earlier, Ariana sent out a message to her fans via TikTok, urging a softer approach to discussing people's appearances by saying, "I think we should be gentler and less comfortable commenting on people's bodies, no matter what."

She continued to discuss perceiving health and beauty, stating: "There are many different ways to look healthy and beautiful. I know personally, for me, the body that you've been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body."

The pop star hasn't shied away from discussing her own experience with cosmetic enhancements either.

Speaking to Vogue in September 2023, she openly shared, "Full transparency, as a beauty person, as I do my lips, I've had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox. I stopped in 2018 because I just felt so... too much."

Ariana affirmed her personal choices, saying, "Whatever makes you feel beautiful, I do support."
