Wanda Smith has sadly died at the age of 58 , her colleague Rick Caffey has announced.

The radio host, who worked at Atlanta's V-103 radio station , died on Saturday just one day after celebrating her birthday. Her cause of death is yet to be revealed.

Rick, senior VP of V-103, shared a tribute to Wanda on Instagram . "Our hearts are weighing heavier today as we grieve the loss of our beloved Wanda Smith, someone who always made us smile and who was a big part of V-103 for years," he wrote.

Rick continued: "We extend our deepest prayers and condolences to her family. In her role at V-103, dating back to 2006, Wanda Smith brought so much joy and care servicing the Atlanta community.

Wanda's impact touched lives beyond making us laugh." Rick said Wanda worked tirelessly to "make a difference in the lives of those who were without."

He concluded his post saying: "Rest In Peace Wanda, as You take your place among the Stars. We will Miss You." Tributes have since been pouring in for Wanda.

Actress Loni Smith said: "I am sad to hear about the passing of comedian and radio host Wanda Smith. She was a staple in the Atlanta area and we came up in comedy together. She was the ultimate entertainer. Rest now Sis. Condolences to The Smith Family."

Ella Duncan, American sports anchor for ESPN, posted: "Woke up to news of the passing of Wanda Smith. Wanda was exactly the person Atlanta radio fans knew her to be: hilarious, vivacious and entertaining. But I’ll mostly remember how she loved people back.

"How she’d pull them in w/ a Wanda hug and show compassion and kindness to strangers pouring their heart out b/c it felt natural to share. She truly embraced the responsibility of being a “community mom” and her role in helping people, thru laughter or financial support. I’m praying for her family during this devastating time. Love you Wandeeee."

One fan posted on X: "RIP to Wanda Smith. Icon in the Atlanta Radio and entertainment industry." Another said: "Oh my goodness. Condolences to her loved ones."

Wanda started her career at V-103 in 1998 as a co-host for the Frank and Wanda in the Morning show alongside Frank Ski. She worked on the show for two decades before leaving in 2019.

Her exit came following her explosive interview with comedian Katt Williams in 2018, in which the comedian insulted Wanda's interview style, resulting in a bitter feud. Katt had a history of insulting other celebrities.

Away from her work as a radio host, Wanda was also a comedian. She worked as a writer on the TV shows Def Comedy Jam and Comicview. She also had a weekly set at the Atlanta Comedy Theater.

Wanda was married to LaMorris Sellers and the pair shared three children together.
