Jerry Jones admits Dallas Cowboys 'question marks' as Dak Prescott 'looks in mirror'

The Dallas Cowboys are in danger of their season falling apart after suffering another embarrassing home defeat to the Detroit Lions - losing all three of their games at the AT&T Stadium with pressure mounting on head coach Mike McCarthy.

The Cowboys defense has given up 124 points in these three games in Arlington, Texas - with only the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5) and Carolina Panthers (1-5) having put on more points against them through the first six games of the year. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott struggled mightily in the loss as he threw two interceptions to no touchdowns on Sunday.

The loss only puts the Cowboys at a 3-3 record, and still very much in contention to challenge to win their division in the NFC East - but it's clear that all does not seem well within the organization.

The Cowboys were roundly criticized for their loss to the Lions, with Prescott and owner Jerry Jones facing the music when speaking to the press after the game.

Jones told reporters: "I think that any time you get beat, you create question marks. When you get beat like this, you create more question marks." He added that manner of the defeat was "Very concerning, very humbling. This was a shocker."

Meanwhile, Prescott said: "It takes everybody looking in the mirror and saying, 'How can I improve myself? How can we get better and help this team?' And from as I said, it starts with practice."

Tom Brady had been on the call for the Cowboys' loss to the Lions, telling the team the issue that they must fix as they head into their bye week.

He said: "The number one issue is their ability to run the football. I said earlier in the show, maybe the best way to do it is throw the ball early and then open the run game up because you've done a good job spreading the field and now they're going to play pass defense. I think they're trying to start these games trying to be balanced.

"But the problem is when they're balanced they're not producing the run game, a quarter or a half into the game, they're down 14 (or) they're down 17 - and now they are one dimensional. And the other team has made them one-dimensional. I would like to see them start the game a little more pass-happy, a little more pass orientated, try to gain a lead.

"They've got a lot of things they need to fix offensively from what I've seen. Offensively, running the ball and getting other guys involved other than CeeDee Lamb that can make some plays."

McCarthy came close to losing his job as head coach this past offseason, with Jones releasing a statement on why he'd be keeping him in for the 2024 season. Jones has added that he is not thinking about making a coaching change, at this time.

Also, Jerry Jones needs to quit interfering with the coaches jib. That's why they're the coaches, they don't need your interference Jerry Jones.
