Coca-Cola has recalled over 13,000 cases of Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade after an investigation discovered the "zero sugar" drinks contained full sugar.

The voluntary recall was initiated on September 10 with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). The recall was classified as Class II, which means "a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote."

There have been no reported illnesses related to the recall , but for anyone monitoring their sugar intake for medical reasons such as diabetes, drinking the full sugar drink could be harmful.

The recalled products are 12-ounce cans of Minute Maid Zero Sugar Lemonade with the following codes found on the products: FEB1725CNA and FEB1725CNB. The canned drinks were shipped to stores in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.

"In September, Coca-Cola Consolidated voluntarily recalled a limited quantity of Minute Maid Lemonade 12-ounce cans in parts of Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio," A spokesperson for Coca-Cola said in a statement. "No impacted product remains in the market, and all recall activities in those markets are complete."

Although the recalled products have been removed from store shelves, it is recommended for customers to check labels before purchasing and if you discover you have purchased a recalled item to throw it away or return or for a refund.

This recent recall comes months after Walmart issued a recall for nearly 10,000 cases of apple juice over contamination concerns with high levels of inorganic arsenic. That recall was also classified as Class II by the FDA.

The recall affected 9,500 cases of "Great Value" brand apple juices, and the affected products were available at Walmart locations in 25 states and also in Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia. Those apple juices came in six-packs of 8-ounce PET plastic bottles with a best-if-used-by date of December 28 of this year.

Florida-based Refresco Beverages US Inc. , the manufacturer, initiated the recall after detecting arsenic levels that surpassed industry standards, with measurements of 13.2 parts per billion according to the FDA's recall notice.
