Sam McCall has one condition before agreeing to donate liver to Lulu Spencer on General Hospital

Sam McCall was identified as a match to potentially donate her liver to a dying Lulu Spencer , but she told the doctor there was one condition.

Dr. Terry Randolph explained to Sam that she could help save Lulu's life, but there was still a catch. They needed to go through more another screening process to make sure that her liver was viable and to mitigate any potential problems. Lulu's health was on everyone's minds on the Wednesday's episode of General Hospital , so Sam knew she needed to act quickly.

While the doctor emphasized that she didn't want to pressure Sam, ultimately they decided to move forward. Sam said on the soap : "Let's do it ... As soon as possible. Now, please ... If there's a chance that I could save Lulu, yes I want to make that happen now."

After delivering her approval to Dr. Randolph, Sam walked back her commitment a little bit. She added one caveat, saying: "Wait, Dr. Randolph. There's just one thing. We can't tell Dante."

Dante Falocenri previously revealed how much he's been struggling with Lulu's condition, especially since he doesn't know there is a donor on the horizon. In an earlier episode, he said: "Lulu's not doing well. Rocco and I go and sit by her bedside every day and pray for a miracle. I used to think how amazing it will be when I get to tell him the good news, that his mother's better and she's coming back to us. And now all I'm able to think about is how I'm going to have to tell him bad news and she didn't make it. In the same breath I'm going to have to tell him he's never going to see his grandfather again because he's going away for a long time."

Fans understood and respected Sam's choice to be quieter about her move. One wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Bless Sam, she doesn't hesitate to agree to saving Lulu. I get she doesn't want to get Rocco and Dante's hopes up before they are certain but she shouldn't go through this alone."

However, they are a bit nervous about what this could mean for the end of Sam's story. As Kelly Monaco's time on the show is nearing a conclusion, there is worry that this transplant could have complications for Sam, bringing her life to an end.
