Scottie Scheffler risks wrath of PGA Tour colleagues after unveiling Masters plan

Scottie Scheffler has admitted he is likely to choice the exact same meal for golfers at the 2025 Masters tournament as he had two years ago when he won the event.

As he did throughout the majority of his incredible 2024 season, Scheffler dominated at the Augusta National , leading the field by four shots and winning his second green jacket - meaning he'll come into the tournament next year as the reigning champion and having the deciding choice of what his fellow champions will be eating.

As is tradition for the beginning of Golf's most prestigious event, the previous event winner has the honor of putting together a menu for the Champions Dinner on the eve of the tournament .

After winning the tournament in 2022, Scheffler made his choices for the 2023 dinner - which was said to have gone down as a hit. However, he is now strongly considering using the exact meal again.

Scheffler recently stated: "I'm wondering if I should just have the same exact menu. It was pretty good. It's all my favorite foods. I don't know really what I could do differently. I think it would be kind of fun just to have the exact same food."

That move would likely go down as unpopular amongst the players and the wider community, with tradition being that players are given a new set meal each year, with golfers regularly making backhanded compliments towards players choices .

Scheffler's menu from two years ago had two different appetizers, consisting of cheeseburger sliders, served 'Scottie-style', with French fries on top of the beef patties and under the burger bun, with cheese, tomato and shredded lettuce. Scheffler's other starter was firecracker shrimp.

Scheffler's many had then served a tortilla soup, which consisted of avocado, crispy blue tortilla strips, cilantro, lime and sour cream, before serving a choice for the entree - Texas ribeye steak or blackened redfish - both served with macaroni and cheese, seasoned fries, greens and jalapeno creamed corn. The dessert had been a hot chocolate chip skillet cookie, finished with cookies and cream ice cream.

While said to have been enjoyed by the golfers in attendance, being served the exact same meal from two years ago is likely to raise eyebrows.

Spaniard Jon Rahm won the tournament in 2023, with his Champions Dinner evening meal consisting of tapas and dishes from the Basque region - his home nation.
