'Final' photo of Liam Payne surfaces after the One Direction star's tragic death

Liam Payne was photographed before getting on an elevator to go to his hotel room before his tragic death .

The 31-year-old fell from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Wednesday night. Officials claim that when emergency services arrived on the scene, there was nothing they could do .

A TV channel in Argentina shared the photo of Liam during a broadcast. In the grainy photo the singer is standing in front of an elevator at the hotel wearing a white tank top.

The broadcaster announced that this was the alleged last photo taken of the star. Later that day, a hotel worker called emergency services to tell them he was worried about a guest.

"We have a guest who's off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come," they said in the recording.

Liam was allegedly acting erratically and had to be carried back to his room during his stay. Photos released that are allegedly of the star's hotel room showed a burnt soda can, white powder, aluminum foil, and a smashed television.

He originally landed in the South American country on September 30 with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, 25. The two attended the concert of Liam's ex-bandmate Niall Horan on October 2. During the show he was seen waving at fans and dancing in his suite.

Kate left Argentina two days prior to Liam's death. In a TikTok before Liam's death, she explained: "I was so ready to leave."

"Love South America, but I hate staying in one place for too long and we were supposed to be there for five days, turned into two weeks and I was just like, 'I need to go home,'" she continued.

Kate has not shared anything publicly about her boyfriend's passing. Liam was featured in a lot of her TikToks throughout their relationship.

Liam's family released a statement through the star's spokeswoman about his tragic death. "Liam will forever live in our hearts and we'll remember him for his kind, funny, and brave soul," it read, "We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time."
