    Recreate viral Raising Cane’s chicken and sauce with 'amazing' air fryer recipe - ready in 15 minutes

    If you’ve been seeing Raising Cane’s everywhere on social media and don’t know where to get it, a best selling cookbook author has shown how you can make your own at home. Nathan Anthony, the brains behind Bored of Lunch, tackled the viral restaurant’s goodies, using his trusty air fryer.

    Nathan gained a following during the pandemic when he began creating food content on social media during lockdown, sharing quick and simple air fryer and slow cooker recipes . Taking on a viral recipe, Nathan turned to the famous US fast food restaurant, Raising Cane’s

    Raising Cane’s is an fast food restaurant specialising in all things chicken, specifically chicken fingers. It’s recently been having a moment on TikTok , with a flurry of Americans showing off the chain’s enormous sauces, which come served in a cup.

    The viral Raising Cane’s sauce comes served in a small pot or a drinking cup, which can be bought in a portion up to 32oz (907g). The sauce is described as a creamy, tangy and peppery sauce, which some say it’s not too dissimilar from a Russian or Thousand Island dressing.

    But whether you're abroad and don't fancy forking out for a flight to the US to try it, or you just fancy making it yourself at home, you can follow Nathan’s homemade alternative, which can be made using an air fryer. Nathan shared his recipe on TikTok last month, which is tipped to be a healthier version of the fast food goodies.

    The creator did say you could deep fat fry the chicken, but if you want a healthier option, use an air fryer. He described it as a “really good fakeaway”. Nathan’s video has been viewed over 673,000 times, receiving 30,500 likes and 89 comments, with Cathryn saying: “Yours looks much better than Canes.”

    Lee wrote: “I don’t eat meat, but they look amazing for my boys! Thank you,” while El Donce commented: “Made this, the sauce is ridiculous.”

    Here's everything you need to make Nathan’s healthier air fryer Raising Cane’s-style recipe.

    Air fryer Raising Cane’s

    Ingredients

    Chicken

    • 4 chicken breasts, cut into long strips
    • 1 tbsp garlic powder
    • 1 tbsp Cajun or paprika
    • Salt and pepper
    • 1 egg
    • 150g cornflakes, crushed

    Sauce

    • 50g mayonnaise
    • 90g ketchup
    • 1 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 3 cloves fresh grated garlic or 1-2 teaspoons garlic powder
    • 1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
    • Salt
    • 1/2 tsp Cajun

    Texas toast

    • 1 loaf brioche bread
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
    • 1 tsp salt

    Method

    Coat the chicken in the spices, then beaten egg and then your crushed cornflakes. Repeat the process for all chicken strips.

    Then coat the chicken in some low-calorie cooking spray and air fry for 12 to 14 minutes at 190℃. Nathan spiced up his dish by adding some frozen crinkle cut fries as a side to the air fryer

    While that's cooking, prepare your Raising Cane’s sauce by mixing the ingredients above together.

    You can also make your own Texas toast by cutting some brioche loaf into slices and frying in some butter and salt.
