In the moments leading up to his tragic death , singer Liam Payne was reportedly embroiled in a heated argument with a woman over money, even offering her a substantial sum with a five-word explanation.

Hotel guests have since shared their encounters with Liam before his untimely demise . One guest, Michael Fleischmann, claimed that Liam appeared 'a little wild' while arguing with an unidentified woman about money just before his fatal fall. The US-based guest alleged that Liam told the woman: "I'll give you $20,000 (£15,311) dollars just because I can. I have $55 million. Liam's five-word reasoning was: "I like to help people."

He further added that the woman conversed in Spanish, with the hotel manager translating her words to the One Direction star around 2pm local time.

In an interview with the Buenos Aires Herald, Fleischmann revealed that he only recognized the man 'with an English accent who seemed to be causing a disturbance' in the hotel lobby as the One Direction singer after news of his death broke. He described the singer as 'very upset, agitated, a little wild, walking around and pacing' and 'very energized.'

' Another hotel guest, who chose to go by the name Rebecca, told MailOnline that during a 30-minute conversation with him, he confessed, "I'm so f----- up" In her interview, Rebecca shared that Liam's "bizarre" final moments have left her shaken. She recounted how he 'wanted to get recognised' while in the lobby.

After leaving briefly, he returned to the lobby with a laptop and began reading emails in public view. Rebecca remembered seeing the singer open an email that "obviously upset him".

"Suddenly he took the computer, shouted 'f--- this s--- mate! ' and started bashing the computer on the ground," she added. According to Rebecca, the incident left staff and guests at the high-end hotel shocked, prompting her to check on the distressed star.

"But he just kind of grunted," was Liam's response to her concern. "Then he said 'I used to be in a boyband. That's why I'm so f----- up'."

The 31-year-old former One Direction star tragically fell from the third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday evening. Prior to the incident, he had been active on social media, sharing his plans for the day on Snapchat. The hotel's reception head made two emergency calls, pleading for assistance after revealing that a guest was 'off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room'.

As per LA NACIÓN, a visibly disturbed Liam descended to the hotel lobby. Staff members who interacted with him urged him to return to his room, but shortly thereafter, the sound of his body impacting the ground was heard as he fell from the third floor.
