Liam's funeral could then take place in November. Argentinian newspaper Clarín has reported the claims and quoted sources from the British Embassy who said: "We are supporting Liam Payne's family and are in contact with local authorities."

The news comes afte r preliminary autopsy findings pointed to Liam passing away from "multiple traumas" causing "internal and external bleeding." A post-mortem conducted by the Forensic Medical Corps at the Judicial Morgue on Viamonte Street revealed these initial findings, following reports by Infobae.

According to the early findings, the tragedy aligned with Payne's devastating plunge from his third-story balcony at the Casa Sur hotel located on Godoy Cruz Street. The investigation into his untimely death is ongoing, encompassing toxicology and anatomical-pathological assessments of his blood and urine to examine for possible drug use. Moreover, there are plans to review Payne's medical records for insights into his psychiatric health.

Currently under the supervision of Prosecutor No. 16, Andres Madrea, the case also involves Deputy Secretary Maria Florencia Lavaggi gathering testimonies as part of the inquiry. A comprehensive autopsy report is anticipated to shed further light on the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking event.

The Mobile Criminalistics Unit of the City Police of Buenos Aires gathered forensic evidence from a room at the Casa Sur hotel. A bottle of whiskey, a lighter, and a phone that could potentially belong to Liam were discovered at the scene, all bearing fingerprints.

Authorities confirmed the presence of a white powder in the room, along with medications such as clonazepam and energy pills. A notebook and the musician's passport were also seized and handed over to Prosecutor No. 16. Inside the room, police also discovered a shattered television screen, an almost-empty glass of what looked to be champagne, and another vacant glass.

Alberto Crescenti, the head of Buenos Aires emergency services, has confirmed that Liam's death was instantaneous due to multiple injuries sustained, including a skull fracture. Crescenti explained: "Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life. Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death."
