Playboy model Veronika Murashkina dies at 31 while desperately waiting for lung transplant

Veronika Murashkina has sadly died at the age of 31 while waiting for a lung transplant .

The playboy model, who was a former star on the Russian Bachelor , died after suffering from lung disease. She had been waiting for a lung transplant after spending the last few years bedridden following a car accident .

The accident happened in 2020 and caused her immune system to weaken . As a result, she had been placed on the urgent waiting list for a transplant, but sadly died just days before the operation was due to take place.

A friend of Veronika's told local media: "After the serious accident, her leg was literally put back together piece by piece. She was treated for a long time, stayed in clinics and recovered."

They added: "It seemed that her troubles were finally in the past, but then a new one came when the lung disease hit her. Veronika was on the waiting list for a transplant, but she did not live to see it."

Veronika rose to fame following her appearance on the fifth season of The Bachelor in Russia in 2017. She had been vying for the heart of actor Ilya Glinnikov in the reality TV show. Veronika modeled for Playboy following her time on The Bachelor.

In 2020, she suffered a horrifying car accident as she returned home to see her family. A drunk driver lost control of their vehicle and hit the model and her friends.

She spent months in hospital undergoing treatment after being left critically injured. The accient left Veronika with a badly damaged leg and quickly caused her immune system to weaken. She went on to develop the life-threatening lung disease.

Veronika's modeling career ended following the devastating crash. Tributes have been pouring in from fans. One person wrote on X: "Thats hard to take."

Another person wrote: "I'm sorry to hear that. The loss of any individual, especially someone in the public eye, can be quite impactful."
