Aaron Rodgers makes damning confession after another New York Jets loss

Aaron Rodgers has admitted that he must improve after another subpar performance - the New York Jets ' fourth consecutive defeat.

The Jets were embarrassed by the returning Russell Wilson and Pittsburgh Steelers , falling 37-15 with Rodgers throwing two interceptions to undrafted rookie Beanie Bishop Jr while failing to get the best out of his superstar receivers in Garrett Wilson and the recently acquired Davante Adams .

While Rodgers did throw for 276 yards in the game, almost half had come on checkdowns thrown to Breece Hall - who put in another strong performance with 140 scrimmage yards and a touchdown to continue to move the Jets down the field.

While the quarterback did manage to get 150 passing yards to his three starting receivers in the aforementioned Wilson, Adams and Allen Lazard, the offense shot themselves in the foot with poor penalties along with Rodgers' turnovers.

When assessing the game and his performance, Rodgers placed blame on himself while suggesting the team has an issue within the locker room that they must address.

"I gotta play better. That's the key. I got to play better. Find a way to run the ball better, so we can actually pass. I thought did some nice things in the passing game. Breece obviously had a couple of really nice ones. Spread the ball around Tae (Davante Adams), G (Garrett Wilson) and Allen (Lazard). Mike (Williams) had a nice conversion, but we got to run the ball better, and I got to play better."

He added: "The energy, for whatever reason, at halftime, was a little flat. I felt like it was flat before the game too. So I could look at myself and what I can do to bring better energy, but we all got better."

This had been the Jets' second game with interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich in charge after taking over from Robert Saleh, after an improved performance against the Bills' in the first game. But the manner of the defeat will ring alarm bells within the Jets organization, having already mortgaged their future in trading for Adams - sending a third-round pick and allocating significant cap space for him through the next few seasons.

The Jets will face the Patriots next weekend in a must-win game, falling to a 2-5 record.
