Coca-Cola logo has 'subtle message' you won't be able to un-see

Coca-Cola, a global titan in the food and drink industry, boasts an instantly recognizable logo and iconic color scheme that resonates worldwide .

Coke drinkers can spot their favorite beverage—be it Diet Coke, Coke Zero , or a seasonal special edition— from a mile away, thanks to its distinctive branding.

Many businesses crave such recognition and understand that a memorable logo is crucial for legendary brand status. "Businesses cannot overlook the value a great logo holds; they are the connection between a company and potential customers, and what customers will remember most," said Richard Lau, President of LOGO.com, a leading force in logo creation and marketing strategies.

While at first look, Coca-Cola's logo may simply appear to be stylish cursive, the 'C’s sweeping tail subtly hints at a smile—a nod to the company's commitment to happiness. Richard elucidates: "This subtle message may go unnoticed, but it subconsciously creates a positive association with the brand in the minds of consumers."

The brand is transparent about its roots, even detailing the evolution of its famous logo on its website, and credits Dr John S Pemberton with perfecting the secret formula of this storied drink in May of 1886, reports the Daily Record .

The syrup for Coca Cola was created by a pharmacist in Atlanta, Georgia. The popular beverage was made by combining carbonated water with this new syrup, resulting in a drink described as "delicious and refreshing".

As per the Coca-Cola website, Dr Pemberton took a jug of the new product to Jacobs' Pharmacy in Atlanta. It was tasted there, declared 'excellent', and sold as a soda fountain drink for five cents a glass.

Frank M Robinson, his bookkeeper, proposed the name "Coca-Cola" and wrote the famous flowing script. He believed that "the two Cs would look well in advertising", a strategy that also worked for Coco Chanel when she established her iconic fashion house in 1910.

Robinson tried writing the company's name in Spencerian script, a popular style at the time. The logo underwent several changes and new shapes until the late 1960s.

In 1969, the instantly recognizable version known today was introduced. Known as the Arden Square logo, it was "presented in a red box, with [Robinson's] Coca‐Cola script underlined with a white 'wave', or 'Dynamic Ribbon Device'."

    This is still used today.

The iconic Coca-Cola logo has been a hot topic on Reddit since someone spilled the beans about its hidden quirks. A user recently raved about its classic design, while another noted, "Also cool to see how it translates across different languages."

Someone else confessed, "Ever since someone told me about the faces in the logo I can't unsee it whenever I look at it."

Another chimed in with praise, declaring, "Perfect logo." And yet another added: "Coca Cola is a cool logo that's why they didn't change it."
