Michael Strahan tells Tom Brady 'don't you dare' after FOX NFL Sunday hologram cameo

NFL broadcaster Michael Strahan took a lighthearted jab aimed at Tom Brady after FOX Sports rolled out its newest hologram technology for football coverage.

FOX NFL host Curt Menafee handed things over to Strahan during a segment before the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 28-18 in a Super Bowl rematch that was billed as America's Game of the Week. The panel of Menafee, Terry Bradshaw , Howie Long, Strahan, and Jimmy Johnson were joined by a hologram, Brady, who called the game from the booth at Levi's Stadium.

Hologram Brady stood tall in equal stature to Strahan visually despite being 6-foot-4 in reality compared to Strahan. The Giants legend actually trumps Brady's height by one inch and over thirty pounds.

The slight difference was enough for Strahan not only to identify but also playfully criticize after Menafee said: "Thanks a lot, Tom. Get some rest, have a great call in between. He's in Silicon Valley, the tech capital of the world, really. So, use our technology, and there he goes" - as he snapped his fingers, instantly making the Brady hologram disappear.

Strahan, always looking for a chance to laugh on air, brought Johnson closer to stand where the hologram stood to help him poke fun at Brady's virtual appearance. "Come on in here, Jimmy," Strahan grinned. "Because he's going to kick him out of here. I mean, the technology is really cool nowadays; what you can do, except for the scale is a little off. Tom Brady is not bigger than me. I will tell you that right now, America."

Strahan kept the jokes rolling, comparing Brady's virtual head size to another cast member: "Don't you dare run up on me, Tom Brady. Plus, the noggin was like giving Howie a run for his money."

The banter earned laughs among Strahan's castmates and NFL fans online. NFL fans pointed out that Strahan just had to ensure everyone knew that he still reigns supreme in size, even in the digital world.

Giants players of the past, including the defensive end and Eli Manning, have poked fun at Brady since New York defeated the Patriots 17-14 during Super Bowl XLII. The 2008 game in Glendale, Arizona, ended New England's streak of three Super Bowl wins in three appearances.

Brady's legacy includes earning rings in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021. He won six of those with the Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after un-retiring. The Giants and Philadelphia Eagles are the only teams to defeat Brady in the big game, with a Manning-led Giants team doing it twice. Strahan retired following the 2007-08 season and was not a member of the Giant's team that beat Brady's Patriots 21-17 in 2012.
