Big news is brewing for Prichard residents!

A Mobile County Circuit Judge has given the green light for the Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) to take over the Prichard Water system.

    Judge’s Decision Brings Hope

Judge Michael Youngpeter approved and adopted Young’s recommendation, calling it “reasonable, prudent, and adequately supported by the Draft Master Plan.”

This ruling is a positive step forward for Prichard, where the water system has been a long-standing issue.

The judge emphasized the importance of acting quickly, urging local legislators and key stakeholders to move forward with the necessary legislation to make this plan a reality.

What Does This Mean for Prichard Residents?

For the everyday person in Prichard, this decision could lead to significant improvements in their water service.

With MAWSS taking over, residents can expect more reliable water quality and service.

The takeover aims to address ongoing problems, ensuring that everyone in Prichard has access to clean and safe water.

It's a victory for the community, showing that their voices have been heard, and positive changes are on the way.

A Call to Action for Legislators

The judge's order also called for state legislators to roll up their sleeves and get involved.

The plan requires new legislation to move forward, and the judge made it clear that “time is of the essence.”

This means that while the judge’s approval is a major win, there’s still work to be done to make this transition happen smoothly.

Local leaders are encouraged to step up and ensure that the necessary laws are put in place to support this takeover.

    Looking Forward with Optimism

Overall, this decision is a hopeful moment for Prichard.

The move to MAWSS promises better water services for residents, and with the community’s support, it’s a step towards a brighter future.

This change won’t happen overnight, but with everyone working together, Prichard can look forward to a more reliable and efficient water system.

Let’s celebrate this victory and look ahead with optimism!

What a joke, water bills will go sky high fir mobile residents. The Prichard water department stole all the money and ran. They not even prosecuted for the crimes. But MAWSS said mobile wouldn't see a rate hate. but the city of Prichard should have their own water board to support them, not mobile. They can't find anyone to accept that job because they are broke and look at the population. let Saraland have this piece of town. mobile citizens should have to pay for incompetence of Prichard city leaders.
