    Modesto native cast in ‘truly a dream role’ in ‘Les Misérables’ North American tour

    Modesto native Lindsay Heather Pearce has been cast in “truly a dream role,” she recently posted on Instagram .

    Pearce will be among the new cast members joining the North American tour of “Les Misérables,” playing the role of Fantine, according to a story on Playbill.com .

    She will begin performing in the musical, based on the Victor Hugo novel, on Oct. 1 in Louisville, Kentucky. There are no California dates set at this point, according the tour’s website , which has not been updated with the new cast members.

    Pearce’s recent roles include starring in an off-Broadway production of the musical “Titanique,” a touring production of “Mean Girls” and most notably on Broadway as Elphaba in “Wicked.”

    Produced by Cameron Mackintosh, this new production of “Les Misérables,” has run in the U.K., North America, Australia, Japan, Korea, France and Spain, the Playbill story said.

    “Along with this U.S. tour, the production is currently playing London’s West End, a world tour, and Japan” according to the story. “The North American tour ran from 2017 to March 2020 before being halted due to the global pandemic, re-launching in 2022.”
