Decision 2024: Monroe County's top spot for pizza pie is...

MONROE COUNTY — It's always a source of great debate, great discussion and great passion, but in the end, we all want the same things — a great pizza pie!

Last week, the Monroe News posed a simple question to its Facebook followers — who has the best pizza pie in all of Monroe County?

Based on the reaction to our post, two things were very clear — one, Monroe County is passionate about pizza pie! And two, the county's top spot for this deliciously round delicacy was also clear.

In approximately 24 hours, over 200 people nominated pizza places from all over the county.

We gathered those nominations and narrowed them down to the top 10 nominations, created a poll and posted it at monroenews.com . A few days after that, the people have spoken and Monroe County's top spot for pizza pie is — Royals Mollette in Monroe.

The Monroe-style pizza favorite garnered nearly 40% of the vote, tallying 1,638 votes of the 4,122 total votes. Anson's earned the runners-up spot with nearly 30% of the vote, while Detroit Beach , Oliver's Pizza and Guiseppe's Pizza round out the top five finishers.
